5 or 10 years season tickets - If you want one, as some have suggested (Lou, you said you and three mates ??) then please ring the club and do this on 0208 301 1196. If you are struggling to get through then please PM me and I will pass on your details to Piggy, or give you his mobile number, as I guess the office line at PVR is going to be pretty busy in the next 13 days.
Luton - Ask them if we can have their share of the gate money come Sunday 12th. The worst that can happen is that they will say "no you cheeky f**kers". No harm in asking. Also, as fans, lets bombard their forum to get as many people to the game as possible, as I suspect a lot of Luton floating fans wont go to a cup game against lower opposition on a Sunday otherwise.
Charlton - Ring them immediately and ask for donations of time, money, anything. We have links there, and many Welling fans are fans of both clubs after all.
Bexley Council - If you work there, or know anyone working there, then get on the case asap. They wont lend us all the money, but even if they made a donation of £1,000 to support a local business it would be helpful.
Sponsors - Find one, ask your employers. The club charge less than £300 for a hoarding, and Im sure in this position will do shirt sponsorship for the reminder of the season for 2-3k. A bargain for a local business given our likely press coverage for Luton and the HMRC issues.
Donations - Its your club, if you want it to survive and you are wealthy enough to afford a donation, then please do it asap (even if its in trust in the WSU account so if the club does go under then your money is safe and can be refunded to you).
If you need Piggy's mobile number please let me know.
Once this 59k is cleared then we all need to do more to raise money on an ongoing basis to ensure that the club doesnt get in this position again, but the club itself need to take a long hard look at itself as well.
Patsy ... all remaining Auction items should be listed immediately on the website with a reserve price, and on ebay ... no point having all those items of value held back when the club really is on its last legs ??
About the advertising hoarding idea. It doesn't have to just be businesses that have their names on them does it? How about forum members pay the £300 or whatever to have their own names on them. Might sound a bit egotistical, but it's a bit of fun and helps the club.
Also, along the ideas of the sponsor everything in sight appeal fund set up by Russ and Matt, the people that sponsored things like the turnstiles and the floodlights (and other physical properties other than players), could for an extra bit of cash have a brass plaque with their name on it attached to whatever it is they've sponsored. Would be great for whoever sponsored the turnstiles for instance, to walk through a turnstile that has their own name above it :D

Got another idea. Whether the match goes ahead or not, clear the pitch anyway and get people to pay say £10 a person to have photos taken amongst the snowmen, if they get built :D More than £10 could get you a poster size print or something. I think i wouldn't mind having that done as long as i wasn't standing there by myself, because i would feel like a total knob :)

Could get the players to train on the pitch next week and charge people to watch training, get them to hang about for an hour in the bar after for an informal meet the players/manager thing? Photos/Facebook Videos etc with the players. Where you would get bar takings aswell.

these ideas are all well and good but it's exactly the same as before and a small percentage of the total will be raised and we will for certain go under - i dont want to dissuade people from donating but seems people might be throwing their money away
we need someone to buy the club - nothing else will matter
J.. these guys are working there socks off coming up with idea's to raise money.... who knows the publicity raised from some of their idea's may make someone say they'll put up big money..... at this stage everything must be tried.....
please try not to be negative remember every little helps
If we were in your position, I'd get a massive group of people and stand in Welling High Street with buckets. It won't raise 59k, but every little helps. Surely the local community don't mind sparing a £1 or 50p for their local football club?
Unfortunately, from what I have heard by way of rumours and from my reading of all that is published on this Fans Forum, it would appear that very little has been done by the people who own the Club.
All the initiatives that have been put forward, so far, appear to have been suggested by the fans themselves and especially JGFC (where do you get the time to send all those messages?).
It is a fact that rumours have been flying about because there had been no Official Statement from the Club from 15th October to 29th November inclusive.
It seems that the problem of the debit of £59,411.75 is not being dealt with by the Club, as it should be, but is being handed over to the fans to resolve .
It would be highly advantageous to see a statement from Barrie Hobbins, on this Fans Forum, informing the fans on how he is proposing to deal with the debt of £59,411.75 which is due to be paid to the HMRC on 15th December.
According to the statement issued by the Club yesterday, an additional amount of £20,000.00 in respect of PAYE/VAT is also owed to the HMRC and must be payable "in due course" (When?).
It is hoped that Barrie will give the fans a clear and concise statement of his proposals for dealing with this matter, on this Fans Forum, before the meeting on Saturday at 11.30 a.m. so that the fans can be fully aware of this intentions in this highly critical time for the Club.
Bubbles asks the right question and John C has put it brilliantly. The fans are being asked to sort it out. As Bubbles said at the start - if the cafe over the road was going out of business and I used it once every couple of week - would the customers be the ones that needed to sort out the mess. Of course not.
I know a football club is different, but the principle is the same. If we put in loads of money - we want something back.

- this was my initial concern after handing over sponsorship cash. I got the vibe that 'the club' were quite happy to for the fans to run around raising cash.
How about asking the vice presidents for some money as well. Have they given us any money, and have they done anything at all? What do they do? If they aren't helping the club out then what is the point in them being vice presidents?
