As a person with strong views on this, which you can see in response to the original post on that Forum, does anyone actually recall this being suggested as an avenue out?
I would also be interested in how many of you agree with the original post on there
and how many have the view that it doesn't actually help the problem, either now or for the sort of club we want the reputation of being should we get out of this mess?
I don't think I have horribly misjudged the majority view on this but I stand to be corrected....
I tend to agree with you Stafford - I'd rather we sorted this or died trying.
On the other hand, I can see why some may feel desperate enough to 'beg'. However, loose change isn't going to get us out of this mess but the bigger ideas which have been put forward on here by everyone.

For once I understand your views and agree with them!!
I dont agree with it, but as Alex suggested, its desperation time. Although I wouldnt personally have begged our immediate rivals !!
The immediate observation has to be then, if desperation is the justification, how about getting in contact with the guys who did Securitas and seeing if they still have a spare 50k stashed in another garage. Would be equally unpalatable to some of us...
Begging for what amounts to loose change is not the answer ... we'll be back discussing this in three months otherwise.
There is enough money floating around amongst the loyal fans to pay that debt, people just need assurances it will come back to them and not go into a black hole ... and that changes at the top will be made so we run more efficiently, and with less money lost, in the future.
I'll admit that begging from other clubs fans isnt the answer.. unless one of those fans would like the chance to invest big money in a better club than the one they follow I feel Dizzy wanted to help and isnt in a position to invest himself, so tried what he thought was best... the more boards welling's plight is posted on (not begging, but explaining the situation) the more chance of reaching someone that maybe able to help... who knows an ex player/fan/resident may read one of those boards and think hey i've got a spare 100k i'll give it to welling united....
No one is saying don't try and help, but loose change down the back of the sofa isn't gonna get us out of this mess. If I had £59k down the back of mine I'd be laughing. Even if we did bucket collections outside the Emirates, Stamford Bridge and White Hart Lane we'd still not reach that figure by a long way.
The bottom line is we owe money to the TAX MAN, hence the general public who pay taxes, you and I included, lose out when we miss payments. So people were never gonna be sympathetic towards our case and therefore why some of us feel we have to get out of this mess ourselves.
Begging are you lot mad - trying to get a bit more money for the club via fans some of whom clubs have been in the same position as us.
Welling Jim playing for the supporters team and going to as many games as possible i have said to many who post on here ideas and you say about loose change if we started all that 14 weeks ago maybe that loose change would have mounted up!
Thats the problem with many at this club all the way through to many people think they are the bee's knee's and can pipe up, having ago at fellow fan trying to get any money into the club is a disgrace!
And Stafford trying to mug me off on the connie south forum there was no need for that and lets say someone went on there and was like yea i am able to help what would you say then?
Dont care what i look like to you or anyone else on here, I can not afford to put money into club but think anyone who can then good luck to you!

How does it not help the problem is this meant to be all secret then? And reputation of the club asking for money that can save it, i dont care if we got it from the same place fifa got it off the russians!
1) It is not secret. A bit difficult to be secret after it was in court the day before and it has been the top headline on the Conf South website for the last 3 months.
2) If you are free to post what you like on the Conf South forum then so am I. The response to both posts thus far has been entirely predictable, chiefly given the prevailing attitude by most of us towards them at the time.
3) There is possibly a reason why no one else tried this approach in the previous 13 weeks, i.e. the likely view of success and the fact that you may possibly be in a minority of not caring where the money comes from.
4) There is a fine line to tread here. Whilst the current problem needs solving or there will be no club, solve it in the wrong way and you will alienate a decent percentage of your core support, as far as I can work out. And so far this thread does not dissuade me from that opinion. Do that and you had better spend your roubles wisely as we are not a viable business with the current support level let alone a diminished one.
5) I know what I have been prepared to do in the past and in the future. I have never advertised (except for tax purposes) what I have done in the past and I'm not about to start now.
6) Left, right or the seam down the middle?

1) ?
2) Its the way you said it!
3) If at first you dont succeed keep on trying! And if you get the money to save the club from fellow non league fans i dont see it being a problem!
4) Fair point, but there is a possibility in a 10 days the club will be done with! How would core supporters leave the club? to be fair what Matt and Russ and others said regarding ONE supporters club would bring ALL the core together.
5) Fair do!
6) Dont watch cricket i am afraid!
7) You are right everyone has an opinon but for me i thought it come over a bit strong and dismissive i have not good big words in my locker and maybe it was wrote in a wrong manner but if it saves MY club then i will try.

Im just a rascal a skinny rascal!
2) Don't you recall checking with me to see if I agreed with the way you worded your original post either.
3 & 4) And there you have the problem. Save at all costs to hit the problem again down the line or if it doesn't look like its viable, don't blow good money after bad. You have your view, I have mine and there are a whole host of others and some may not be that the best way is survival in the current form.
6) Nothing to do with cricket. I suggest an inspection of a sample scrotum.
And here is the base contradiction in your argument. As is well known, I am not a particularly sensitive person or shrinking violet and no one else's view is going to cloud whether I put money to this or not. However, I would point out that there is more likelihood of me contributing probably in excess of what you may raise through your appeal on the Conf South Forum. Consider then, regardless of what you think of me or my post, whether your response would have got your desired outcome. That could just as easily have been 60k you just turned away there.
Dizzie people can see why you did it,. But the overwhelming majority feel "the club" should sort the debts in full.
Just look at clubs previously in CVA paying pennies to creditors now flourishing. These clubs paid a FRACTION of the debts they accrued, true they get relegated but then they effectively are debt free to have another crack... It doesnt take a debt free club long to be competetive in a lower league and build resources to be a force back at the original level.
By paying the debts Welling's reputation will improve and creditors will re invest (if we have some acumen). new sponsors will come on board when they see the club have shaped up and acted correctly.
Let other people beg publicly when their club screws up. Lets try and do it ourselves and in our minds stick two fingers up at those clubs that go into CVA or Beg publicly.
