There has been much debate on the forum recently about the payment of the players wages. The Club have stated within the last week that with the exception of this week the players wages were up to date but there are a number ? informed supporters who believe that this may not be the case. I myself have heard from a very reliable source that the players are owed monies over and above this week's wages.
I would suggest that the answer could lie in a selective statement telling part but not all of the position, has been made by the Club i.e. the old smoke and mirrors routine, you can't dispute what has been said but you haven't been told everything.
The players and management team have shown great loyalty to the Club during what has been a very fraught season off of the field. If what I personally believe to be the case is right reading the debate which has been taking place on this forum must be unsettling the players who are unable to state their situation on the forum be that good or bad.
The supporters saved the Club from being wound up and we have been promised that there will be changes at PVR though as yet we have seen nothing beyond a statement of intent. I would suggest that a joint statement from the Club and a players representative to clarify whether or not the players wages have been paid in full up to last week, and if not what action is being taken to pay monies owed, would provide an excellent opportunity for the Club to demonstrate that the promised changes are more than just words.

It doesn't really seem as if anything has changed at the club. Same people running it, same smoke and mirrors routine. The sooner we have new owners that know what they are doing and don't hide things from us the better. And now all this bull**** about players not being paid, but the Hobbins claim they are being paid. I'm fed up with all this.
If they are owed money then hopefully they will get it over the xmas games and if they are in the bar buy them a drink or two to say thanks.
It was nice to know that Jamie wrote on the board we owe the fans. Maybe they are playing for the fans?
You can bet your life that there are plenty of teams in the shyte at the moment with no games being played. And you can bet that some wont have paid their tax and will be in the poo in a few weeks and months.
We wont know much until the new interim committee has met and a permenant committee is elected. You can only hope those meetings and communication are good and that will tell us a lot.
There are so many questions and i dont have any answers. Meetings needed, clarification needed on many fronts.
Bruno, i think the post is undermining in itself as you are asking the club to contradict themselfs or asking the players to say theyve been paid which in itself undermines the club. Ithink we have to hope the committee is strong and asks the questions, if they get no answers then you will know the score but i think we have to wait for them.
Barrie has stated twice that the club have paid them upto a week behind, so asking him to confirm it a third time is a bit like saying i dont believe you.
All ive seen is an anon say the players arent being paid, thats very vaigue and unconfirmed. If youve heard different officially then why not post it.
Happy Xmas and if the players read this...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE beat Dartford.

I hope we do the double over Dartford and give them a Christmas stuffing they'll never forget :D What would be best for the job, traditional paxo or paxo with apple?
Its christmas, has to be sausage meat and stuffing. Loads of stuffing 3-4 nil stuffings, champagne football, pughie rippers from 25 yards and a pires special.

"It doesn't seem like anything at the club has changed......"
Never a truer word spoken.
FFS even the official statement came from the solicitor when surely it should have come direct from the club??
I applaud (and will support) the efforts of the new WUSA as I know most of the people on the committee and that the supporters are 100% behind them. I wish I could say the same about the heirarchy at the club......
Ive nailed my colours. The 64k and the new association should see the fans be executively represented for their efforts and fund raising which equate to an investor saving the club.
Ive suggested Matt Mein presses for clarification on this when they meet. If "we" dont get that then i dont see anything changing as it doesnt have to change. If bert brown gave then 64 bags then he would be a director, end of story... add in the association and constitution their further planned activity to drive the club forward. If no executive place is granted then its just there for the sake of it and more organisied to GIVE more money to the club.
I hope that the club say its an executive role that Matt will be given and the lenders get one too. Forget the financial controller and others they can have a non exec place.
The wages issues, i would be dissapointed if they havent been paid but until someone tells me they havent or someone with more balls than interested bystander identifies themselves and says who they are i dont know for sure either way and neither do any of us, we only have what barrie has said to go on..
I think we MAY have some not paid but they may be on pay as you play deals, has no one thought of this? There are people at our level who are on these deals.

Some points for consideration (apart from Players' wages.)
1. The Chairman of the interim committee of the Welling United Supporters' Association is to be the supporters' representative on the new committee to be formed under the Club's constitution. As I suggested elsewhere I suspect the Club's Management Board will continue as before and merely provide information about its decisions to the new committee which will not be involved in these decisions. Whilst representation on the executive board is fully deserved and possibly expected by some this is not promised in Dan Chapman's announcement. The new committee may take some time to set up as it will be necessary to recruit a volunteer finance officer and legal officer. It should be possible to appoint the lending group representative quickly as I presume some of the members of the Supporters' Association interim committee have made loans and are eligible for this position.
2. Dan Chapman's announcement reveals that part of the sum raised to pay off the petition debt consists of a short term loan. The size of this loan and the repayment conditions have not been revealed but these could have a big impact on the Club's short term ability to pay its bills and remain/become solvent.
3. The position regarding current PAYE, NI and VAT is unclear. Until this is up to date and the Conference are satisfied that this is so the embargo will remain in place.
