Needs to come off or we are finished, all these games piling up. Hopefully this is one of the things the supporters rep can clarify with the club, in what exactly needs to be done to get it off.
Maybe IF the supporters can work towards making it possible, it could be the difference between promotion and the play offs or mid table due to running out of gas.
The sooner we can sort this the better but weve never known what exactly has to be done by the club to get it off.

It's been suggested we need to be up to date with our payments to HMRC and have an ongoing payment plan with them. I certainly thought the first bit was ok and if the second bit isn't then why not? Embargo still being in place is incredibly frustrating in view of the huge efforts by the supporters.

Maybe it is a good thing. If the embargo is lifted we could have a bigger squad by the time the games are re-scheduled.

I'd be surprised because if we are no longer in debt to the Revenue then we shouldn't need a payment plan and the Conference shouldn't be involved.
Unless the Club has paid at least £20,000 to HMRC in the last couple of weeks it certainly does have a significant debt for outstanding tax. This figure was mentioned at the time of the hearings as being additional sums due to HMRC but not included in the petition debt. The Club should be deducting 20% from wages paid to players and employees as tax and (probably) a further 11% for National Insurance. I reckon this would amount to at least £1,000 a week and normal practice is that this has to be paid over to HMRC monthly. I am not aware of any concessions over monthly payment allowed to football clubs but your owner seems to think there are as he states no further tax payment is due until May 2011. If football clubs did not have to pay over their tax deductions monthly it makes nonsense of the Conference's requirement for quarterly reports of tax, NI and VAT outstanding. If the Club is not making monthly payments to HMRC what will happen at the end of the season when the outstanding amount will be more than £50,000? Another winding up petition?
The club have said we will have 20k to pay to hmrc in due course, then said may 2011
so how can you say that they owe money other than what is due on an ongoing basis, IF they are paying this then the embargo should be lifted immediately.
This was the point of my post, lets not have bert saying this and sid saying that on the forum, lets know WHY the embargo is still there and what the club need to do to get rid of it. Lets not sit around for months in the dark while the players play 6 games a month with 12 or 13 fit bodies.

It seems to me we arent paying the tax and NI due when it is due, and then waiting until pre-season each year and a big gate and paying it then. Its caught up with us. We need to start paying our bills and debts on time.
