I would hope that a ref would not be influenced by postings on a message board and it would in fact make them determined to make the right decisions. I don't think refs favour teams at our level - they just make bad decisions and some time make more for one side than the other. I have often seen us get decisions that are wrong.
Many of the refs are just not good enough and some find it hard to deal with pressure from verbal players, managers and the crowd.
Look at the highlights 50 seconds ... Pugh is taken out before the ball gets to him from behind. Im not digging a ref for no reason he was terrible and failed to give a decision that was a stonewall penalty and affected the result.
If a ref cant give a decision like that, that then unsettles players then he is poor and affects the game.
As i said, lets hope it was a one off. I suppose you think Saturdays ref at Thurrock was good?
