Might be worth waiting until the court actually gives a judgement, as it's only been "advised" to rule that it's ok to stream foreign feeds.

But if the actual court ruling does say that it's ok to show live foreign streams of football then it could mark the day a lot of football clubs particularly the Premier League will have serious money issues. Because the Premier League/BSkyB won't be able to charge as much and thus the clubs will recieve less TV money. The impact will be felt throughout English football.

Great for the public because it means we could have a choice in Football TV providers but bad for English football clubs.

I legally have sky sports on my phone, paid for.
I legally can hook my phone up to a tv, it comes with the cables/scart from Nokia

Why cant i hook up sky sports to the tv at PVR, 1 its paid for, 2 its legal and 3 my phone manufacturer give me the cables needed to hook up to tv or big screen.

If i were on a coach or in a car i could hook the phone up to the tv or screens on seats, so why cant i do it on tv in a large room where others may be, If i was at home hooked up to the tv (i dont as i have a dish), are sky saying only i can watch it not family and friends?

JamesU took the words from my mouth, this is only advice from a legal bod at the EU, but in 2/3 of cases, the advice usually leads to the decision.

It's a tricky one, but essentially mostly down to the EU's doing. They are the ones who didn't want monolopy's in the EU. What I have heard may happen is a 'Euro-wide' price, where every provider can operate, but at a set price. Can't see it working myself, but anything for a bit of paperwork in Brussels (which, by the way, is a lovely city. Not as nice as Bruges though...).

Murdoch's influence here, however, cannot be discounted. This man is a global media tyrant and he could well be the downfall of the money the english leagues gets. If he gets the hump and goes elsewhere, a lot of clubs, from Premier to Conference, are going to be up a creek. As much as I want Murdoch to get bent over a barrell on this one, I don't want to see the entire English game bought to it's knees...

I am sorry to disagree with you Alan again. but you seem to hark back to a golden image of the past that didn't exist.

When Sky took over avareage attendances in the top flight were just over 21,000 - last season they were over 34,000.

In the 80s we had disgusting grounds and regular fighting on the terraces.

We have now have fantastic facilites and rarely any hint of crowd trouble in the ground, which has resulted in thousands of people now being prepared to go to the grounds and take their children. Sky money has helped created this

The fact is that the Premiership isincredibly well supported and popular. Without Sky money I dread to think what our top flight would look like. It is the envy of the world.

And 10 teams could win the title? When was that? I grew up with Liverpool winning it virtually every year.
