The team tried hard but we got sucked into a physical battle with a team that was always going to win in that department. We tried to play in on the ground but as they wouldn't lets us we tried to compete and to be honest we looked like we couldnt compete with their game plan.

On only naming two subs I can assume that the volume of games on the current squad, two of which only passed fitness tests on the day is starting to take its toll.

Fair play to Braintree, there game plan works, the ref was not good but no worse than I have seen this season grace PVR. I can only hope that we can pull together a decent side to face Bromley on Tuesday on the back of today's performance.

Any lifting of the emargo will be much needed to refresh a squad which has more than done its fair share already to get us to where we are.

It might have made a difference had the number 4 received a second yellow for the cynical foul on Loui one foot outside the penalty area. He expected to go. You could see the relief in his face when the referee failed to take the appropriate action.
