I know what you mean Stafford but I don't want the club to go to the wall and I am sure the lenders are hoping that the club are running their affairs properly so that they will see their money again
I am sure the lenders are hoping that the club are running their affairs properly so that they will see their money again
It is the hoping in conjunction with running affairs that is the problem.
The covenant always was we would put up with no information provided we were assured we would never get in a mess. That has been broken, one side appears to realise this, the other hasn't yet.
Frankly, it is not a surprise given my dealings in this matter.
Am I the only one getting to the point where I am almost past caring...
have to agree
im down charlton more than welling these days - and also maybe this might be on another thread and i havent read it yet but what is happening re the player's wages? is there pay up to date yet?
If you are down at Charlton, you shouldnt worry if Welling's players have been paid or not. News has to improve, for sure. As was stated at the meeting. time is running out this season. Which is good in a way as hopefully no players will leave this late and it gives us a chunk of the summer to shape up and hope that they stay.
Transparancy will only come when the books are opened to the WUSA and the damage is known along with what the club are doing to decrease the debt and improve commercially or cut their cloth to match their incomings.
No one has a scooby what the situation is ongoing with HMRC, players wages, none critical debts until the truthfull and whole situation is acknowledged and stabilised, we could be leaking a bag a week still for all we know.

Judas
just watching my second team more often
fact is as i have said on here before i have a season ticket, donated to the wall and have spent cash in the shop so have been bled dry over the last few months and im sick of it to be honest
and i resent being forced to stay in the ground at half time now - that clubhouse is a dump and i dont want to be forced to have to go in there if i want a beer and usually if you can even get a beer in there it tastes like dishwater - although still think the bottle bar is a great idea
Reading between the lines of the statement it would appear that HMRC have been holding an undated petition to the court whilst the discussions have been taking place and I doubt that they would have reached an agreement if they were not satisfied that the lump sum which is due this week would be paid as that would merely be prolonging an inevitable.
The issue is keeping up to date over the coming months and making another lump sum payment in May. Realistically, and its not rocket science, I would suggest that we will be told later in the week that in order to survive the wage bill has been cut, thereby reducing not only the wages but the amount of PAYE due and hopefully that a pestigious friendly or similar has been arranged post season. The size of the cut and the way it will be implemented is the information I'm expecting as it must be odds on that the cut will be significant and around the 25% mark.

I think if they take the embargo off we will cut the budget and bring in some kids from Charlton or hopefully arsenal with Jamies connections and our recent friendly. I hope if we are resigned to losing a couple of players or more we approch those trying to tap them up all season and give them the chance to buy them before we release them, some may say no point they will get them for free, not the case when two or three clubs are sniffing round the same players. If i was Parmenter or Harding etc and i wanted one of the players i would come in and say heres 10k we want this player. Then they can be sure of getting them and not risking they go somewhere else for another 50 quid in a free for all, they wont be aware of the other clubs who have been sniffing. 10k would be impossible to refuse for most of our players. I wouldnt sell Obersteller or Parky for that little though as i think both could play in the league and whoever got them would make money on them in the next year or two at 10k.

i understand the budgets going to be cut the two players not on contract can walk because there wages will be less but the contracted players are going to make up the difference the players know they are a good team and are prepared to work together lets hope the owners can do there bit

Lets assume Day isnt one of the cuts .. lets remember he could still get a decent playing wage elsewhere and probably a coaching or managers job given his experience, contacts and success this season.
The club wont "cut" Jamie, but he might be so royally pi55ed off ....
If the players are going to make up the difference and stand together, then this is just different class. These boys under Daisy, Ash and Frosty are unbelievable and its a crying shame the crowds arent 700 800 supporting them. 622 was better against braintree, lets hope theres a good 900 there tomorrow to sing them on to 3 points. Im cross with myself for suggesting pay cuts earlier in the season, given how theyve all pulled together. They should all be proud, i know we are.
If we lost one of them it would be a travesty none of them deserve to be released and if they are willing to take another hit till the end of the season then they are truly decent people and worthy of support.
Bearing in mind the mercinaries we had under Parker, Smith, Ford and co... Just shows you what this team is made of.
COME ON YOU WINGS!!

Surly if you have a season ticket you can come and go as you please. I can understand not allowing re-admittance for non season ticket holders though.

as far as i know noone at all is allowed out and then back in regardless of whether they have a season ticket or not
Yeh, me too. Popping out at half time, getting a bus to Bexleyheath to have a pizza then take in a film at the pictures. Then pop back. It's like being caged like an animal. So unfair.
