Went into Lidl's tonight to discover they are selling Hobgoblin Goliath, a very nice pint at £1 per bottle. Only trouble was there was only 5 bottles left.
Alan S-have you been in?-we need to be a team off the pitch as well as on it
Sorry BKK haven't been in there for ages. I usually rely on the flyer they shove through my letterbox. There was no mention of it on that. Pity, I wouldn't mind a few cases of it.
Has anyone in here been in a Wetherspoons other than the Turnpike in the last 24 hours or so and can tell me what festival beers they saw? I started this festival quite late and have had 12 or so beers. Seeing as they will have barrels of festival ale for some weeks to come in each pub, i would appreciate a heads up on what's available :) I'm after mainly the more unusual tasting beers (plum, blackcurrent etc.).
Can only tell you about the Turnpike, which I know is not what you want, but they had a beer called deep shft at 6.2 %. Only had a half between three of us which was a good move cos it looked and tasted like it had come from a coal mine somewhere
It is Bubbles, but it also explains why my devotion to the wings takes me from 2 o'clock on a match day until 9 o'clock in the evening in a match analysis via the Turnpike
Bubbles, as a man of the world who has been around football for many years, you should know beer and football go hand in hand. (and I am not saying you are old)
I do worry that Hobgoblin sounds rude and I am not convinced that this is a beer at all. I think it might be a code or something. Could be the start of an invasion from Norway and Dogme amd Alan S are spies.

I had a pint of that on Friday (loved the stuff) and was served by Katie, and i almost managed to keep a straight face when ordering my drink (I'd drunk quite a lot by this point) :)
I seem to like the beers that no one on here likes :D
