'A controversial first half goal from Andy Pugh was the difference on the day as Farnborough struggled to reach the caliber of football they have shown over the past few months'
On the 20 minute mark Andy Pugh broke the deadlock after a swift counter attack. Pugh sprung the offside trap and finished nicely with the outside of his right boot past Michael Jordan. Jay Conroy was booked for his protests as he believed Pugh was offside when being played through.
No mention of course about No. 11 and his red card attack on Anthony.
We won the battle after they started brightly then they tried to go long when we got on top. Faz must have been cythed down 4 or 5 times and no bookings for the players who did it. Pugh was held all game too and had defenders climbing all over him.
The key to this game was Pires, he wasnt going to chase a ball early and the players told him to get after it, he nearly forced a mistake and from then on Farnborough were wary of him and double teamed him and Loick put himself about. Hit one great shot, one he should have buried he missed and he caused them problems. Hes been a decent performer and showing his worth and consistency when he puts it all in, which is now... more often than not.
The coaches deserve praise, we could see Loick had talent early in the season but now he is performing consistently.

I was impressed with Loick yesterday and felt that he made more of an effort to get stuck in and cause Farnborough problems, which he should do seeing as he's faster than pretty much everyone else and tall. I'd say he was consistent at the start of the season, then after a couple of months or so he would every so often have games where he didn't seem to be making enough effort, but the coaches have obviously sorted him out :)
