Please please keep us updated, as while the game is happening I'm going to be stuck on a bus somewhere between Peckham and New Cross! COME ON YOU WINGS!!
Didn't hear line up being announced but starting 11 is: Whitehouse, Obersteller, Andrews, Martin, Coyle, Loui, Parkinson, Clarke, Cumbers, Pugh, PIRES.
I think Loick was offside when the ball was played, but I'm sure the video will confirm. But Fazakerley's goal looked fine to me. He just jumped and won the ball - couldn't see a push.
Complacent on and off the pitch. Daysie dropping himself was Lewes last season all over again. And the insistance that their team selection and formation was right was stubborn to the extreme. Right winger on the left, left winger up front & striker on the right - was Hales there? The belated switch to finally put Faz on the right was at the expense of putting our top scorer on the left. Why the aversion to playing Pires on the left?
Not at the game today but that's pretty much what I'm thinking. Day should not be dropping himself at this time of the season. We simply do not play our best football when he's off the pitch and I never like seeing Parkinson playing centre midfield instead of centre half. That experiment has to stop. It's staggering that a team can have the run we've just been on against the teams we've played and then lose to a team already relegated. Luckily our play off hopes are still in our hands..........just.
Completely agree with everything Russ said. I know we had a couple cleared off the line and a couple disallowed, but if we'd been at our best then that wouldn't have mattered. We seemed to think we just had to turn up today to get the three points. The only positives from today are that some other results went our way and that, hopefully, we'll learn from today not to be so complacent ever again.
I agree slighty odd team selection. With St Albans being relegated and team confidence high maybe they were under estimated. Maybe Daisy has his eye on other "big" games! Hopefully we wont slip up now 6 points should do it!
They were too complacent and need to do something about it. They should be professional in their attitude towards each match even though they are semi pro. St Albans are a terrible side and we're significantly a better team than them yet we let them win 1-0. Not acceptable. I expect better against Thurrock :)
When he drops himself the players think its an easy game. Without him in midfield we are weak. Jack is a center half, We make it easy sometimes for oppo. Can see why you dont want a 15th booking but then dont get booked 14 times in 30 games then,We need a proper midfielder Playing next to clarkey. St Albans were awful. I like Jack as a center half, we seem to have played him as a center midfielder to cover and then thought hes a center midfielder, hes not but hes a very good center half, jesus play heffernan as heffernan will keep possession and has good feet.. Coyle is a center half not right back but has been good this season. Faz on the right please. Faz stood out today along with Whitehouse. Please stay next season John, what ever happens.
Luckily results have gone our way.
We have to go back to Pugh and Cumbers up top.
Wont criticise the players, as hopefully they will fight hard and most will stay next year to show it is the fans and the team they are playing for and not just cos they are on contract, Today we never looked like we gave a toss for the first half. 2nd Half better and we were the better team by miles. I dont think him dropping himself cost us today like it did at Dorch, Lewes and other games, we all know today we should have battered them. Massive game Friday, lets see the passion, even if a few players are going elsewhere next season, you can take welling up still.
Whitehouse was good today made 2 good saves as St Albans just played one ball to try and hope for a mistake.

We havent signed any players for next season, if a few sign in the next week what a lift that will give everyone, you can say oh what if we go up,, thats what clauses are for. Lets see a few sign please and give us a lift, even if one or two or the manager.

Core easy we loose 1 game and people cant play here and there. We have gone 13 games with a couple of defeats we didnt loose the massive 6 game were 4th . Colyle has played right back to get us in this position. Parky has played in midfield against all the big teams.
Lets remember were we are they have done so well and Jamie has worked wonders
The point we are trying to make is that with 4 games to play, with points needed to secure the play off place, you play your strongest team no matter who the opposition are.
I think Coylie and Jack have been integral to our success. both are winners and give everything. Both have played all season out of position too. Today Jamie dropping himself didnt cost us a win, we battered them. Against Dorch and Lewes it did.
Its still in our hands and this team bounces back. Jamie is still learning things and gaining experience and has done a fantastic job and i hope he commits to next season in the press leading up to Thurrock game. Theres a job to finish at his club.

Thurrock on Friday's now the biggest game of the season. Win it and we're withint touching distance of the play-offs, lose it and we're in big trouble with Braintree away on the Monday
ive missed a lot of games this year but i will be there friday and i hope we all make a noise - usually for every home crowd in every league there is no atmosphere but we need one on friday

Looks fine to me and the St Albans Defence...
Will upload some brief highlights later of the chances and off side goals. 4 to 6 mins worth prob between 10 and 11 oclock. Too depressed and crap filming to do an extended one.

to be honest JGFC it's best not to wallow in decisions ie "it should have been" - we will win on friday against thurrock and then break our poor record at braintree in revenge for our fa cup exit! im called negative on here we will win our last three game with out doubt
come on you ****ing wings you will do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't see anything wrong with Louis goal - but he looked like he made a gesture with his elbows after the whistle had gone, maybe that's what the ref saw?
As for the result, it sounded like they didn't turn up today. Let's hope we can overcome one of our bogey sides Thurrock and press on to the playoffs.
The other thing I wonder about is when Jamie is on the line, how does that affect decisions Barry and Dean would make.
I think all considered,if the points against St Albans were aboslutely vital Jamie would have played.
I asked him in the bar after and he was upfront and said he wanted to avoid a booking and would rather be available for the harder games. In the circumstance I can see his thinking.
Its fair to say we should have dealt with St Albans with the team selected but as the game unfolded a change was needed and there was hesitation in our dugout.
The other point imo St Albans are in a false possition in the league, I think they raised there game because we have become a team to try and beat in this league.
We have earned a reputation that we must carry.
We have three games, 9 points available to secure a play-off place and we will do it.
When it comes to play-off games there will be a different mindset and our teams resolve to face all they are faced with and come through with a possitive outcome will show again.
Lets put St Albans behind and move on to Thurrock.
I think all considered,if the points against St Albans were aboslutely vital Jamie would have played.
The points were definitely vital as the next two games are against teams who probably have something to play for and let's be honest the St. Albans game was the game that Day was least likely to pick up a booking in!

Yes Brokenwing, I make you right. All we can do now is move on to the next game.
Allthough the dilemmer is still there for Jamie, and looking at it your way, Jamie should play, imo we are a better team with him on the pitch.
Lets hope for a good result Friday, it has been said,we will come back stronger.
I'm just about recovering from Saturday (& no I don't mean that due to being on the Stella).
But it was just one of those frustrating games, where we know how much a better side we are than them & dominated the game but it just didn't fall right for us...
Though full credit to Clarkey & Ben Martin in the bar after who helped cheer up my little lad Jake with this photo... Will Clarkey be doing the Moonwalk at the presentation night is what I want to know?
