Mark , i think they all want it sorted, none want to go before seeing what the score is. Jamie had a meeting planned for today i think so hopefully we will get some news soon or hes got something to think about for a week or two. Weve given retainers to all of the one we want to keep/stop going for free. You can be sure they are working on things and have stopped clubs just taking anyone by offering an extra few quid as tribunals will be involved.
Id say that our coaches have developed all of the players and that will go for us if any do require fees if they leave.

Hope we hear some good news very soon, it will help to keep the momentum going for the new season if things are sorted early and, of course, we retain most of the squad! Just over 2 months until preseason friendlies begin!

Every follower of the Wings would want all the players and management to stay, if that should happen it would be a solid base to start from.
To start next season with the collective mind set to continue improving would demonstrate an example to the club as a whole.
The club would have to support and show faith in this team.
The only reason I can see any player wanting to move on would be to significantly progress up the leagues.
We have players Im sure that are league potential, I just hope the spirit they have all seen develope here is valued and one of the reasons to consider staying.
I have faith in Jamie to continue, his first season as player manager has been truly outstanding.
I can only pick up on the atmosphere at the presentation, we could all see them as a group enjoying the company, they all seem to be genuine mates,as well as team mates. They also appreciate how the supporters value every one of them.We have something here that doesnt happen on its own.It happens when you have quality people with a common cause, pulling together for each other.
To look forward to another season watching the standard of football weve seen this past year would attract higher attendances. The word will spread and Welling United will benefit.
We can all have another memorable season. Heres hoping, and looking forward to the first PSF.
Sorry to be the voice of reason but I think we are all being a touch naive here.
The club has been punching above it's weight all season. I don't how we can maintain current budget levels and therefore maintain the current squad. The club has little or no commercial activity going on and the owners have done next to nothing to improve the situation despite assurances to the contrary.
I would love to have a season like this one but with a happier ending but I don't think it is feasible. The manager and his players have been treated shabbily by the owners of the club. If the manager stays then we have half a chance of keeping some of this squad together but , at the presentation evening, it felt like I was saying gioodbye to some of them rather than see you in July........
Its all down to the budget, drop it by 500 and we could keep all or most, drop it 1500 and you are struggling. I think this could be a drawn out game, lets say that one or two want off and we will get a fee. That money could be the difference between the budget Jamie wants and the one he is offered. Also remember hopefully the pre season games wont get swallowed up in HMRC payments.
So as we are poor or non existant commercially you have at least 5 home friendlies this season the big one, another big one and 3 X1s , this will provide a bit more cash.

Hoping that the friendlies will see us through the season is what happened last year (which we didn't know then). Since then, we've had commercial work from someone appointed, from whom we've not heard very much since, or if the postholder is still in place, what has been achieved since or what the current situation is. The WUSA, in contrast, tries to at least update supporters on what events are held, how they went and how much was raised.
This state of flux without much/any commercial activity could well prove to be the sticking point next season. All the while, WUSA are doing sterling work in finding sponsors and organising events which will hopefully generate extra revenue. The club really can't rely on this perpetual goodwill.
It's surely got to the stage where the Club should be finding even a willing volunteer being paid on a commission basis to begin with, ahead of a more permanent and experienced appointment, to get out and about amongst businesses in Bexley and beyond to do some serious commercial bridge-building. The consequences next season, like last, are too awful to consider and could be the difference between making progress and just treading water.

Eventually we will need a situation where the WUSA and or the fans that loaned the club money take over the running of the club. The past season has shown that it is more than obvious that with the current owners, things will never improve as far as the day to day running of the club is concerned! The Hobbins' are good people and we wouldn't have a club to support in the first place if it wasn't for them, but there is no room for sentiment in this day and age.
One big difference Sherpa, last year the friendly money went to hmrc, this year it could go to the budget and pay off some loans. plenty of home friendlies is deffo the way to go. Seeing as we cant bring in money commercially.
