As we are all aware it has been necessary for the club to reduce the playing budget for the 2011/12 season. Equally we are all aware that Jamie has managed to retain a substantial number of last year's squad, the majority of whom are under 24 and hence had to be offered terms no less than they were on last season. Bearing both of these facts in mind it is clear that the remaining budget restricts Jamie's ability to add players he would like to sign to the squad.
WUSA, who last season supplemented the playing budget during the last 7 weeks have agreed to add £112.50 per week to the playing budget throughout the coming season. Additionally, they have picked up on the suggestion from several supporters that there may be some who would commit to making a weekly contribution to the playing budget to maximise what is available for the 2011/12 season and are therefore launching a Boost the Budget Scheme.
The scheme allows for any supporter who is in a position to and would like to participate to contribute whatever sum per week they determine (minimum £1). In order to make the scheme manageable participants in the scheme will be asked to make their contributions on a monthly basis via a standing order with their bank.
If you would like to participate in the scheme either send a PM to Matt the Hat or email him at matthewmein@googlemail.com.

Bruno i take it people can just donate a lump sum IE £100 £400 etc which could be broken down over the 40 weeks? Some may prefer to pay £200 in one hit than £25 a month or £5 a week.
PS old news but you can also use paypal to set this up via a subscription i believe woking are setting paypal up for this reason too.
I think this will snowball once news comes in of people paying and the budget being boosted by x amount then others will chip in.

Can an interim committee make such a committment? Was this agreed by the members who were able to attend the short notice Monday meeting?

I Think This is a great way to help with The Teams Player Budget, The Only thing without seeming daft and just for verification is this a LOAN or DONATION as .......
Bruno Writes.... "The scheme allows for any supporter who is in a position to and would like to participate to contribute whatever sum per week they determine (minimum £1). and
JGFC writes......I believe this is the loan repayment over 40 weeks of the season mark as agreed at meeting?
I think by clarifying this Non WUSA members wanting to contribute are all aware of how the money given is being used.
Sy i think its a LOAN, the WUSA are then donating the repayments each week to the budget. IE the loan is being paid back ontime and in full and the WUSA then give it to Daisy for players. If its a donation then obviously you can have no claims on the money, if its a loan and you then donate the amounts repaid you can.

The money contributed via the Boost the Budget Scheme will be going into the playing budget in addition to that which WUSA have already agreed to contribute.

There have been enquiries about making a one off contribution to the budget and I can confirm that if anyone would like to participate in this way rather than by monthly installments this is possible.
During the period 3 June to 19 June when Matt Mein's is taking a well earned holiday anyone wishing to participate in the scheme should either PM me or send me an email at bruno.wuff@ntlworld.com
