He seems to think we will be without our first choice Center Backs. So is Mooro suspended? We can put Perks there with Shearer or Leon, not sure if Green can play there.

I’ve seen Paul Booth play better all round than he did in this game, but his finishing was top drawer. I suppose strikers are judged on their goals at the end of the day and he certainly came up with the goods. I thought his second goal was the pick of his hattrick. It was a great piece of unselfish running off the ball by Mark Molesley to take two defenders away, and a simple dummy and neat finish with the outside of the boot by Paul. Dobson did well down the right hand side, although I felt he could have been screened a bit better by Michael Gash the way we were playing with the three up front. He also made their players work alot harder than he did in the first half. Craig is far more effective when he plays and moves, and isn’t individualistic.

Without a doubt, the gulf in class between the two sides quickly became evident in the second half, as well as the difference in fitness which was there for everyone to see. They got very disheartened by conceding four goals in a twenty minute spell, and we acheived that burst with our passing and movement. I don’t think it would have been flattering had we gone on to score more goals. By the time we had made it 4-1 they were trying to keep the score down. The possession football at the end was good, but galling as well because we are capable of doing that from the word go. I never tell the players to go out there and hit it long. We are a footballing team but I feel we do have to work harder to give the player on the ball more options.

As for the draw on Monday, it goes without saying that we want to progress as far as possible, so a home pairing with the lowest ranked team left in the competition will do nicely.

Next week we are off to Welling and Paul Booth in particular is looking forward to that. I think they could be struggling to field their first choice centre backs which will benefit us if that is the case. He’s going there with a fair bit of confidence behind him, as will the whole team. We had a few nice cameos yesterday, not only from Robbie, but Adam Smith too when he came on which was nice to see.

Move over Tamworth, step forward Total Football City!!. If he wasnt a favourite of mine from his time  playing for us i would seriously hate Roberts, As it is i think he is a muppet when he opens his gob.
