It really is time for the two clubs to get together and take some positive action regarding the pigeon problem in the new stand. I attended the E&B v Gills game tonight and it is clear that the two or three resident pigeons from last season have now been joined by at least a couple of their friends.  They all flew menacingly over a reasonably full stand throughout the game tonight and one in particular must have been eating curry as it aimed its remnants at the spectators below on at least three occasions.

Luckily its aim was no better than that of the E&B forwards on the rare occasions they got near the Gills' goal and as far as I could see the crowd survived unscathed.  At both the Charlton game and tonight the end two rows of seats have been covered over and looking at the deposits on the covers it's easy to see why.  If the clubs take no action, how long will it be before the Council decides there's a health hazard and threatens to close the stand?

For anyone interested, when I left a few minutes before the end, Gills were leading 4-0.  4th goal scored by Danny Kedwell who came on for the second half.

Im sure there`s someone out there who`s into keeping and flying falcons or other birds of prey. An hour with a couple of hawks flying around and you wont see any pigeons for a long time. Repeat it every so often. problem solved. The handlers love it. The birds get to do a bit of hunting. Happy days!

I don't want Paul giving me the bird over this thread.  He shouldn't get into a flap.  I'm sure the sponsorship is just chicken feed.

Perhaps the new tea bar should have a house special of pigeon pie.  I'm sure someone could find a way of providing the main ingredient.  Who knows it might become as famous as Betty's Hotpot.

Do we charge them an admission/ entrance fee?

We should give them a contract, I bet they would be a great asset on the wing.........
