Remember that joke Elliot Kaye who gave a free kick and penalty against us in the last minute against thurrock for no reason at all and booked Andrews again for nothing.. for really nothing... effectively costing us a spot in the play offs.
Referees get a lot of stick but sometimes they are so bad you have to question if its incompetence or integrity. No place to hide for many now with video, i for one hope we never have Kaye referee us as i cant possibly have faith in him at all.
Just read this about his performance refereeing (if you can call it that) Chelmo v Braintree.
It was one decision referee Elliott Kaye did get right on the night and it's a pity he and his assistants didn't get a few more correct let's hope the assessors present gave all three officials the appropriate marks at the end.

LOL. well most refs are crap thats fair, but tossers is a bit strong. I despise it when we play an essex team at home and the ref is from chelmo. We always get bent over by the ref. The ref at home to Havant was their "Ian Crouch" type ref... IE reffed their friendlies and lived local and was on first name terms with havants players... How the **** did that happen and yes we got bent over.
I can handle bad refs, i just laugh... when they are bad for both... But when they give decisions all one way you just think they are corrupt and integrity is clearly zero.

Oh ok i won't use the 'T' word again :D Now i won't accuse certain refs of having been bought or anything like that, but there were many occasions when i just felt that something wasn't right or a bit off about decisions that were made against us. And yes on some rare occasions last season refs were bad for both teams.
I wonder what refs got promoted or whether we will get the same refs. i know Dover fans dont like it when vennamore refs them. It was interesting that Ian Rathbone who missed a "stoner" of a penalty for us apologised later in the season and he said to me i was going to phone up Jamie and apologise but it would be rubbing salt in the wound.
Making a bad decision is fine for one team as has been said its the ones that seem to give you nothing while giving the oppo everything that make it hard to swallow.

I have said it before but I don't think refs are biased - incompetent yes but rarely going out of their way to be dishonest. I think we forget at times that we get decisions that go for us and are clearly wrong as well. You only have to see the anger of some of the opponents supporters!!
Part of the game I am afraid. We are not playing top level football and we have not got top level players. We also don't get top level refs - they are in the Premiership - although plenty of supporters will moan about them too.
Can't remember his name and to lazy to look up the report but I felt the ref away to Staines last season was fairly good. If my memory serves he was from Bristol and was not the ref scheduled to officiate.
Referee a football match? If asked to do it who in there right mind would...
lets think about it...first you must put shorts on that are so tight you look like our spelling police, then wear a skin tight black shirt... then when you want young ruffty tuffties to listen to you, you have to blow a silly little whistle...by the way you have to blow this whistle only after you have run about like a headless chicken.. sometimes in the pouring rain...before you start you are supposed to know the laws and rules of a game that neither the people playing or anyone watching have read or for that matter understand...To carry out this activity at a high level you attend a short course that only proves you can just about read and write...not always in that order... at a lower level the only requirement is that you are a father...its the old adage that the best refs are ex players... some chance...the kind of obuse most players dish out at all levels is hard to take at the best of times... the people watching expect you to take this and just smile... if the same happened say in a pub there would be a mass punch up... not good if there are kids and women about...the punch ups happen on a regular basis and its your time at weekends.sorry lads...not for me. any one who actually wants to be a referee and has never played football has got to be a nutter. or some sort of pervert.perhaps they all are.
