Obviously needs to be upgraded or replaced as you couldnt hear the announcements for Trevor someone at the Gillingham Game. Really isnt difficult to get a wireless speaker or two in the new stand so the tannoy can be heard there. People installing the tannoy should have sorted it, It really is poor to have speakers on one side of the ground and nothing on the other in this day and age.

Its not even right those on the main stand side should have to have the speakers blaring just so everyone else can hear, even though no one else can hear.

It does seem that the NEW tannoy is a lot worse than the poor old tannoy.

If you cant hear it in a crowd of 350 then its clearly not acceptable should a safety announcement be made and it needs rectifying, without being unable to hear subs and line ups.

Totally agree. Dreadful reception.

I sit near the press box and I can't make out what's being said and old as I am my hearing is very good.

If it is new then the company that fitted it should be brought back to fix it or replace it.

As Alan says, even those of us in the main stand can't make out what's being said. The old tannoy wasn't great, but was miles better than what we have now.

It's dangerous! What happens if there is an emergency message that needs reading out?

I agree completely.  It was impossible to hear a single word from it in the new stand on Tuesday.  If a similar happening to the Bromley match floodlight fire occurred people would not know what they were supposed to do.  Definitely needs fixing before the Staines game.

In all fairness, I have not noticed any difference.
In actual fact, I dont recall hearing any announcement over any tannoy system.
I get to the ground after finishing my job as a jet engine tester, admittedly I may have my ear-plugs still in. Come to think of it, I do like to wear my pink fluffy ear muffs, over which is my hoody. As a music fan, I do tend to listen to a quiet relaxing ballard by AC/DC being piped through via my ear phones.
Ive strayed off the point, my apologies, but as Ive said I never knew we had a tannoy system.

I think this is down to the people who sold the club the system, its got to be LOUD and CLEAR all round the ground.

 Delboy and Rodney?

I'm surprised it doesn't translate all that is said into a foreign language (or maybe it does)!

My dear oldcoach

Thank you for your kind words.

During the part of the year where there is no football there are many demands upon my valuable time. From World Leaders to the 2012 Olympic Committee, wanting an audience with me, to Paris fashion designers and Stephen Hawkins wanting advice from me. It doesnt stop there, Apple; Research in Motion, HTc and Samsung are constantly on the phone for ideas to take their products to another level and obviously Mr Murdoch has been in touch.

But this year my priorities have been directed to bailing out the Euro crisis and commanding the last shuttle flight.

As I have just celebrated my 157th birthday, Matron kindly gave me an extended leave of absence so that I could yet again assist with World Management and Governance.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to do a 70 hour a week part time job and have so much free time on my hands. I can only dream!
