The Boost the Budget Scheme which is open to all supporters of Welling United was launched by WUSA at the end of May with an initial commitment of £112.50 a week from the Association.  The scheme had reached the sum of £220 a week by the weekend when a guaranteed figure had to be given to Manager Jamie Day.

Jamie was advised of the guaranteed boost to his 2011/12 playing budget after Saturdays friendly with Thamesmead Town.  On being told the news Jamie said I would like to thank WUSA for setting up the scheme to help with the wages this season.  It has allowed me to sign 2 players and made our squad a little bit bigger to work with which would not have happened otherwise.

The scheme remains open with any further contributions being ring fenced in WUSAs accounts to be used to temporarily supplement the budget further should there be an exceptional need.

J, the limit is £100,000 a week as any more than that will make the League a farce!

There are no limits J.  All contributions are gratefully received.
