Welling United opened their Blue Square South campaign with 1-1 draw. The first half stayed goaless with the wings making the best of there chances but failing to hit the target. Welling United scored in the 67th minute after a belter from the welling striker saw Andy Pugh tap it in from 7 yards. Welling United continued to dominate but neiter teams were having the refereeing desicions going there way. In the 86th minute Staines town found an equaliser as Whitehouse made a save, the Staines midfielder chipped Whitehouse, who tried his best, to just make it into the back of the net. In injury time, Staines were lucky not to be down to ten men and Jack Parkinson made a tackle, a Staines Town stricker landed ontop of Parky and started to throw multiple amount of punches. But the Staines Stricker escaped with a yellow card. Full time result was Welling United 1 - 1 Staines Town.
