Summer Sizzler and it was 8 for £8 in the Welling one. They didn't have any left when I went in on Friday though. I had some the last time they did it and it's very nice.

They had plenty of the Bavarian lager at £1 for 500ml and also St Helier Cider 2 x 500ml bottles for £2. They do 3 flavours, apple, pink pear and blackberry.

Surely, any flavour other than apple is not cider!

That is true-never could work out why sme breweries did banana beer adn other such odd things.

If I ordered a steak I wouldn't request that it tasted like chicken

My son brought me back a bottle of chilli flavoured beer from Slovakia. Most disgusting beer I've tasted since Desperados.

Morrisons are now doing Ruddles County at £1.00 per bottle and  they have now included Spitfire in their 2 cases for £14.00 offer. The Ruddles was in very short supply but they are expecting more in.

Ruddles County is a cracking pint-no wonder it is in short supply

It does seem like the club could be missing an opportunity here. I don't drink any the named above, and I haven't a clue about their retail price, but if bottles of drink can be bought for £1 - £1.50 and sold for double it does seem an easy way to make money. These threads lead me to suggest that there is a demand for them. Even if there was a drinks budget to start with of £50 it would appear to me that it is certainly worth looking at. If people are happy buying chips for £2.00, burgers at £3.00 and tea's for £1.00 then it stands to reason that fans will buy bottles of beer for £2.50 maybe even £3.00.

But what do I know?

Trigger, this is something that we did with the bottle bar, we had different ciders and on one particular home game we had a large selection of bottled ale's. This is something I would like to offer for every game but depends on whether the club has a barrel of ale on. Understandably the club want to sell the barrel first rather than the bottles as it has such a short shelf life. However, I will speak to the club to see whether we can offer something for the game on Saturday at some sort of deal before during and after the game.

Ps bottle bar still on at half time tonight!

Morrisons have some Ruddles left but I would say no mkore than 2 dozen. The shelves are cleared and theyare in the bargain baskets.

I shall have one less to my supply in about 15 minutes

They seemed to have re-stocked this morning and had plenty in the basket and shelves
