He was consistent thats all you can ask for , they fouled a lot early on he took no action so we fouled a bit and he never did anything. Weve had a lot worse refs at PVR. He seemed to be impartial and consistent well done ref.

Yep, Unfortunately you don't seem to get much better than that at this level. Overall I thought he done well, could have been some petty yellows but he decided not too.
Sounds team performance, again we could have had a few more. Surely now's the time to put an end to Thurrock being our bogey side...
Another brilliant result, and against a side that did Bromley 5-0 in the week. Thought the whole side played well without exception, and today was further evidence in my opinion that Parkinson's best position is centre-back. If we can't beat Thurrock on Monday with this team, I'm not sure when we'll ever win there again. One negative point is that I noticed last season, and it's continued this season, that even if he and the team are playing well, a lot of people seem overly keen to criticise Pires (who had a very good game). Everyone knows he can be frustrating at times but he's obviously a confidence player and possibly the most talented in the squad, so getting on his back is never going to help
All that is , is people see how gifted he is and expect him to be perfect every pass or shot. Loick has improved and become more consistent this season and he is getting assists too aswell as goals , true point though he needs encouragement. Hes getting plenty of praise and rightly so he looks a real handful when hes confident, today he could have gone missing as early doors it wasnt coming off but he showed professionalism and got going and got the goal he deserved.
Lets hope he continues how hes started theres plenty more to come , we all know that.

Very impressive performance by you Wings. Brilliant first strike, lots more chances as well as the subsequent two goals. Strong physical dominance, good movement and pace. I'd put a tenner on Welling finishing in top five. Well done on a totally deserved victory.
Not carping, but to keep it in perspective, you need to remember that Eastbourne were missing seven players injured (plus one suspended) and finished with a lightweight team including a scratch back four. Let's hope they give you a more even game in the return at Priory Lane.
Can't fully agree with the assessment of the referee. I thought he was reasonably impartial but simply weak. Players soon cotton on to a ref who is trying to avoid yellow cards and then they push their luck. A yellow card is, for example, all but mandatory for kicking the ball away in order to gain advantage, but Welling players got away with it at least twice.
Look forward to the video - any chance you could include the very early challenge between Thomas and Watson ? All the discussion on the Eastbourne forum reckons it was a penalty/red card, and I just wondered...
Keeper injured, Rightback injured, Center Half injured... so thats 3 out of the back 5 injured. Player Manager Injured so thats a center midfielder injured. 4 first teamers all out for todays game. We have a small squad but shows the quality we have that people can play out of position and the guys waiting for a chance come in and perform to make it hard for the gaffer. Great team spirit.
I will upload the penalty incident as part of the highlights later tonight. Might be rose tinted and only had a quick look but looks like Dan Thomas may have got the ball. Its close though.
As for the ref there was only one team fouling early and he let it go maybe welling thought sod this he isnt doing anything about fouls. at least he was consistent.

Christain, totally agree with your comments I heard the abuse Loick got in the 1st half from the side by the old stand and it was nothing short of a disgrace. He looked gutted and Im glad he made a point of pointing to them when he scored.
As for game Eastbourne played exactly as they did against Dartford nothing up front. How they scored all thoses goals in the last two games il never know. That said we were very, very good today, lots of impressive dispaly's and we still have Daisy to slot back in although at the moment the players arent allowing him a sniff.

One of the things I like about standing behind the goal is that there is rarely any bad criticism of individual players now days. Loick Pires has been outstanding so far this season. How can he be targetted for stick? How can getting on a player's back help him or the team?

Best wishes for the season!
Not a pen for me though keeper was slow to react initially. Couple of your players went down a bit too easily at times.
100% not a pen, great goalkeeping by Dan Thomas. You should be able to see for yourselfs in about 30 mins when pitchero has finished processing it. If people are still not sure i will render a high definition clip of it tomorrow. IMHO not a penalty at all having watched it 4 or 5 times.

Loick is becoming a superb target man, but he also knows how to deliver a fine pass and he does know where the goal is too - four so far. If there is any criticism, it is just out of pure frustration in sympathy with him - especially when he was through on goal and the ball just bounced unkindly. Keep your head up Loick - you look likely to notch at least 20 goals this season, but it is also your all-round play and off the ball running that does the business for your team. Keep going mate.
