After the 3-2 defeat away to Dorchester last saturday, Welling returned to their winning ways. Embarrising Maidenhead United in the process.
All was going Wellings way as they created multiple chances to take the lead while Maidenhead created minimal. But on the 19th minute, the hosts hard work payed off as Andy Pugh was on hand to net a goal out of virtually nothing. This was the Welling strikers 8th league goal of the season. The fun didnt for the Welling side as Loick Pires was taken down on the inside of the box which left the referee to make the only desicion but to point to the penalty spot. Lee Clarke stepped up to comfortably guide the ball to the right hand side of the goal to put Welling 2-0 up within 26 minutes. 3 minutes later and it was 3-0, Andy Pugh yet again grabbing yet another goal by heading the ball over the top of the keeper from a Loui Fazakerly cross.

Welling were cruising to an easy victory. 35 minutes into the game and the weather started to have an effect on the game and the supporters as many of the Welling fans behind the goal fled to the stands to keep dry. This report didnt even though he was wearing a t-shirt and shorts. The half time score stood at 3 goals to 0.

The rain continued to fall through the 2nd half which allowed Andy Pugh to be handed another spectacular goal much like the 2nd one to make his first hat-trick of the season and to put his goal talley into double figures and tieing as the BSS top goalscorer with Charlie Sheringham. Welling grabbed their second clean sheet of the season with a 4-0 victory over locals Maidenhead.
