We were asked on Saturday on how much monies were raised on the SUCCESSFUL Beer Festival.
We've just completed the final figures, as listed below.
Firstly we needed to raise £2446.64 to put it on. Which we did by Sponsors, Advertising and borrowed the previous functions monies as well as the Boost the budget money raised by Pat and Sy, ie Squad photo shoot and matchday raffles. Along With Patsy's Personal Savings. This enabled us to hire the equipment, purchase Beer, Glasses, Shirts, food, pay for band and printing costs
We made an agreement with the club which we will honour by paying Half of the profit we made to Barry. Without this, the event wouldn't have taken place.
The Other half of the profits will go to WUSA along with the borrowed WUSA function monies ie Band nites and Race nite.
Therefore here is what you have been wanting to know......
---------------------------------------- Raised to put event on £2446.64
Profit from event £2105.25
Boost the Budget money......... £288.83 (this will be managed by WUSA) Welling United profit Money......£684.71 (As honoured) WUSA Profit money...................£684.71 + £447.00 ( borrowed function money) = £1131.71.
Which if We are right means an 86% profit...!!!
Once again thank you to all those that have helped in achieving this figure.

Thats amazing, great work. Making 2 grand profit on one day is superb. Club, Team and WUSA all benefit from it. Also Local people would have attended so on top of a financial success it was a success in bring new people in.
Well done.

Agreed. Raising the profile of the club was very important and I saw someone drinking with Bexley CAMRA snaffle a WUSA membership form and put it in his pocket.
Have all the raffle prizes been claimed? I forgot to check on Saturday.

I believe the Mayor of Bexley showed up and stayed for a good couple of hours. Phenomenal work from Si and Patsy which has reaped dividends and showed what can be done and achieved. I take my Welling hat off to the pair of them. Well done guys!
This was a fantastic achievement to raise £2105.25 profit from this event. It has also lifted the clubs profile immensely throughout the Borough of Bexley, along with making a first class impression on all the Camra members that attended this Beer Festival. At the end of the evening so many people were asking if there would be another one, and how they would like to be there for it.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Bexley Councillor Ray and Mrs Diane Sams enjoyed their time with us, and were truly impressed with the whole event, and congratulated Patsy, Sy, Kate and Charlie (From the Jolly Draymen in Gravesend), and all the committee members that worked tirelessly for many hours behind the scenes to make this happen. Also in attendance were Captain Slaney and several members from the local Army HQ who had assisted us so much by supplying the army tent for the occasion.
A big thank you to the band members who entertained us, and thanks to all the advertisers and sponsors who were superb.
Since Barry Wallis left the UK and settled in Spain I really felt that Welling United Football Club was not gaining the attention of the residents and businesses in the Borough of Bexley as could be achieved, but Patsy and Sy have taken the initiative and helped to promote the club to the next level, and to this I personally say "Thank You".
PLEASE SUPPORT THE FUTURE EVENTS and let us get our club the respect and support it deserves.
I agree with all the above comments. This event has definitelyraised the profile of the club. It was fantastic to see so many people turn up to the event and hear their positive comments about how much they had enjoyed themselves and asking when the next one would be. Below is an email I received from a CAMRA member.
Hello Mark,
The CAMRA contingent thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were impressed with the range and quality of the ales, food and music on offer.
Best regards, Bob
I was glad to see all the peoples hard work paid of by the fantastic profit made from the festival.
Well done Patsy and Sy for coordinating it all. A job very well done.
This was on SE London's group mail outs this weekend:
Although a small venue, for their first BF I thought it was very well organised. They erred on the side of caution with 10 beers, 2 ciders and a perry (very popular) but it all went fast enough and lasted the night, so it worked well. Easy enough to find if you either know the place or do your homework before hand.
The 'Grey Ghost' by Raw from Chesterfield..... my god that was fabulous! I'm about to email the brewery. Couldnt get enough of it.
