With Welling United without a fixture this Saturday, Season Ticket Holders of the Wings can watch Erith & Belvedere v Canterbury City at Park View Road for our concessionary rate of just £4.

With the Deres in third place in the Kent Hurlimann Football League and Canterbury City sitting in second place, an exciting encounter is in prospect.

This offer also extends to Season Ticket holders of any club without a fixture this Saturday; ie Charlton Athletic, Milwall et al

So if you can't go without your Saturday football fix, just show your Season Ticket at the gate and hand over 4 quid. Simples!

Not a Season Ticket holder? Don't despair. Our normal adult admission charge is still only £7 so why not pop along on Saturday and maybe stay for the England game which kicks off at 5.15pm.

Thanks
Erith & Belvedere Football Club

Would rather go and watch a game in our league at Thurrock, Bromley or Dartford. Would be more entertaining. Kent League is very hoof it and no atmosphere infront of crowds of 50 people if lucky. £7 to watch the Deres for Wings fans would seem a bit dere ... get it?

Fair play to E&B for using their initiative.

Situation: Local clubs with no games and a televised England game which starts after the game.

Question: Can we try and use the situation to our advantage?

Answer: Yes. We can target season ticket holders from the clubs without a game, offer them reduced price admission and publicise that our bar will be open after the match for the England game.

Just that little bit of effort could well pay dividends.

They would have been better off making it FREE entry to all. Or £2

They may have got a couple of hundred in. If they then gave a colour flyer away to all people explaining about the club, events on soon and fixtures, plus website links they may have got a few in for future games.

Erith get what 50 or 60 in for games? Getting another 10-20 in for one game is no benefit. Much better opening the gates up and seeing if a massive crowd turns up when you are at that level.

Bruno i watch kent youth games where 100+ turn up, people will watch football if you attract them. £7 for kent league is shocking, Make it free on the 12th and they will benefit much much more end of story. The Bar , Food, Atmosphere...

People may pay £7 and see 50 people there and be looking at their watch all game. Get 200-300 in there and a bit of atmosphere and you will still take more in the bar and the food hut than you would if you attracted 20 more in at £7 each.

Its not rocket science.

Whilst I agree with some of the points you have made JgFc at least E&B are getting themselves out there promoting themselves and have targetted the most likely group of people to respond.

I agree that the cost of admission is an issue for football in general these days. However, take Charlton 3 leagues above us, flying high and a full time professional club where basic admission £18 as opposed to our £12 then look at E&B 3 leagues below us admission £7 as opposed to our £12 - not really a lot of difference looking at it proportionately by league and the standard of football played.

Comparing Kent Youth League attendances with semi professional football is like comparing apples and bananas. Why can't we compare? For starters the vast majority are parents/family/girlfriends/mates, then there is the fact that its free, the majority of games take place on a Sunday when most people aren't working, shopping etc. and lastly in my experience there are very few Kent Youth League sides that get anywhere near an average of 100+ attendance.

its what we did so hardly ground breaking.

every game ive seen in the kyl has more than erith get and dartford get over that for academy games, and as i said yes its free, so erith would get far more turn up, more exposure and a better atmosphere if for this one day they made it free entry. They will take well over 300 quid in the bar and the food hut if it was free and everyone got a 50% off return voucher for a game in 2011.

Its a superb opportunity to catch some casual supporters and reach the community. I dont really care but to me theyve missed a trick.

Thanks for the tips JgFc and will definately bear your thoughts in mind on the next Non League Day.

Probably too late to change the offer now but I can offer YOU free entry on Saturday if you want to pop over the neighbour's fence and see what we're about!

Personally, I like Kent League Football. Fair enough, the standard is lower than we see however Manchester City supporters might say that about Conference South football.

Most of the clubs are run by very friendly people and would not survive without the hard work done by volunteers and I applaud them for trying to get in extra supporters, ground breaking or not.

No offense!!! How offensive can you be?

I hope that when we take an initiative and go after supporters from other clubs e.g. CAFC, that they don't take a similiar "unoffensive" stance.

CAFC dont "groundshare" with us.

My views have long been known, when they chip in and help improve teh ground etc and are a positive effect on us that may change.

I could expand and indeed did but edited it as theres no point. They are here to stay and i dont see them improving the ground or helping Erics band of supporters who recently did a lot of work.

on reflection it may have been a tad harsh so i will instead say i have no wish to watch the deres play at pvr on saturday and retract the suffering caused to a tree possibility, good luck.

Forgot about that Beer Fest hope you had a good time. I went and finally saw my boy play rugby. Had no idea what was going on except his team put the ball behind the line more times than the other team, and kicked it through those H things as well.disbelief
