Tony looks back on his time at Welling and the unusual way in which he left us.

Very many thanks for uploading this, Tom. Some marvellous memories here for all Welling forty...er...thirty year old fans.

Tony (and Towner) were in the first Welling line-up I ever saw.

Be great if we could get both back for a Legends night.

Well done Tom. That was a very interesting report, and explained a lot of  points that needed highlighting. What great times they were, and now it all seems to be starting off again. COYW.

Hi. My name is Ian and the link is for my blog. I am glad you all enjoyed reading the interview. Tony is an absolute gent and we talked for 90 minutes and had a great laugh. We could have talked for much longer.

I have tried contacting the club via the form on the website, but haven't had a response. I was offering the programme editor the interview (without any cost) to share with Welling supporters more widely. I know Tony would be more than happy with it. The only thing I ask is that a couple of copies of the programme(s) that it appears in are sent to me to pass on to Tony.

It may be that there isn't interest in the offer, but without a response I am not sure that the message hasn't disappeared into the ether. If anyone connected with the club or editing the programme is reading this and would like to take me up on the offer, please contact me at unitedview@gmail.com and I can arrange word/pdf versions to be sent and that details for mailing out copies of the programme are passed on.

May I take the opportunity to wish you all the best for 2012 and the rest of the season. Not sure that you will catch Woking, but hopefully the play offs should be achievable. Good Luck.

Surely someone should get on to this and stick it in the programme? A nice link to the past.

I have emailed a copy of the offer to our programme editor in case he hasn't seen it and responded to the author.

I have also e-mailed Ian advising him that I would contact Paul as I'm not sure he looks at this forum.

It's a great read and worthy of a wide audience.

Sorted. Look out for it appearing in the programme.
