As a dedicated Welling fan for the last few years i feel its time to get involved in what i think is a very good and entertaining forum. What better way than to start a new thread to say hello! Not that i expect it to be a very popular topic for a convo. So,here goes...........hello all Welling fans and..........COYW!

My dear Stuart, please be aware that it is customary to buy a drink for every forum user as and when you bump into them. But be careful not to mix too long with the 'beer' drinkers. Keep safe and stay with the more intellectual lager connoisseurs. Welcome.

My dear Stuart, please don't put yourself down (that's my job). Admitedly, being a beer drinker is not the worst thing in the world, although I must admit I can't think of anything that's worse........

Just remembered, there is something worse......

Owning up to being a beer drinker!

Whilst waiting for the nurse to come and give me my daily olanzapine injection I thought that I would desipher your comment above.

"Unfortunately for myself trigger"
Here you have started off with a negative, one that you are looking for sympathy, this is a typical beer drinker sign.

"i have long been on the slippery beer slope"
You are telling people that you are mature in age and agree that you should know better.

"and fear i am already beyond saving"!
Another cry for help! It is well documented that 'beer' drinkers give up too easily.

"As for buying all forum users a drink......."
The most worrying thing a beer drinker thinks about, buying someone a drink! Honestly, the more you do it, the easier it becomes.

"i must have missread the smallprint",
This is high-lighting that 'beer' has a much lower alcohol content by volume than a typical pint of lager. You are saying that you are still able to get your brain to function. Whereas a lager drinker would be laying on the floor in a semi unconscious state, unable to see anything, let alone misreading any small print.

"i thought it said all forum users must buy me a drink"
Here is another example of a typical beer drinker.......thinking! But as has been seen earlier, it will probably be the lager drinkers that will buy you one.

Dear trigger, apologies for my late reply to your last message but i had to read it several times to get a proper understanding (i had a lager at lunchtime and it must have got the better of me). I thank you for pointing out some rather alarming traits and habits that i may have become involved in and indeed it may have taken a person of your higher understanding to help me realise the error of my ways. What better time to try and get my self back on track than the ending of an old year and the beginning of a brand new one! So on that note please let me wish you and your nurse a very happy new year, and i shall be pleased to buy you a drink at some point in the near future, thank you again my friend.

You know me well Mr Trigger, but if Mr Stuart cares to go to the Fantasy League table, he will see for himself that the mighty Cynical is indeed ahead of you. After Mondays result, I will climb the table and continue to do so, therefore winning the League on the last match biggrin  Look out Mr Bruno and others, I'm on my way up
