Should be another good game, but we will have to start well as you can silence their crowd when you silence their team.
A win here will slam the door and keep up our excellent record against Dartford and maintain our current run of not losing to them aswell for quite a few games in competetive matches. It wil also push them back on points too.
I wont do similar to the darts fans were saying, where many were saying dont spend a penny in the welling ground on boxing day. In fact the food at PP this season is much much better, gno longer do you have to "enjoy" the soggy food in a bag offerings and you can get a reasonable burger, Plenty of local places pre game to visit to quench your thirst as the bar is rather plain and limited and is sure to be packed solid.
Jamie has a few decisions to make in the line up, whether to keep the solid pairing of JP and Big Ben at the back who gave Dartford nothing and who to bring in for himself in center midfield. I'm sure we will have few hundred there like last season.
For anyone whos thinking of going, its very easy to get to, a fast track bus is about 2 quid return from Dartford train station and takes 4 or 5 minutes or you can do the 20 minute walk up the hill.

Agreed that we need to try and make the start in terms of possession that they made at pvr. If we have that sort of start i think we can score early and really quieten the home support. Any news on Jacks injury, will he be fit because he was really causing them problems down the left hand side before he went off.
Hopefully there will be no New Years Day hangovers as some seemed to have enjoyed Christmas Day a little too much! Once they ran off a few mince pies they looked much more like the Wings we know but won't get away with that sort of start away from home. Hopefully that annoying late equaliser will still be getting up their noses and spur them on to paste D*irtford this time! Hoping to make the game and would like to see 3 points lad - COYW!
Why don't we as a club run initiative like that?!? Its really not that hard to do and make work!! We really let ourselves down on that front. Everywhere I go in Dartford I see posters advertising games, ticket and bar promotions. The only way we seem to advertise is on this message board (i.e Happy Hours) and that is really pointless because the people who are on this forum will be going to games and having a drink anyway!!
Anyway, I reckon if we can dominate early and get an early goal on Monday we will command the game. Dartford really didn't look that good on Boxing Day and probably felt lucky to come away with a point even though they played against 10 for most of the 2nd half.
Hope that we are preparing to give young Bonner a fair bit of stick Monday lads!! COYW

To be fair other clubs are following welling now with happy hours not sure they are doing hot food for 2 quid. Welling have also done kids for a quid in the past. Plenty the club still need to improve on granted. We also did a kids day against a poorly supported un sexy side and had a decent crowd in of nearly 700.
We could do with having 10 or so businesses and the local pubs having posters regularly though in the main shopping areas in welling and the same in bexleyheath and sidcup untapped areas. Hopefully when we finally get this cic thing going then posters and hitting the community will kick in.
Try contacting the club to pass on your point to Jim Dean who is our community officer, i would imagine it would fall within his remit, failing that if you are a member of WUSA bring it up at the next meeting.

A valid point with ringing the club and talking to WUSA. However, it shouldn't need me to contact the club telling them to put posters up advertising games and offers, it should be common sense to anyone with the slightest business brain!!

Theres two of them to do everything that needs to be done, which is one of the things that should change if we go CIC and fans get representation, thats why i suggested make your point to them to pass on to Jim Dean or speak to the WUSA.
The club asked for posters to be done at the start of the season (they know its an issue and THEY suggested we had posters), they were done for the first months games, no one circulated them anywhere so they were stopped as not used. I would imagine as theres only 2 of them at the club that they didnt have the time to go and ask loads of shops and pubs to put them up.

Very disappointed today!! We played better than them over both games and it feels like we have got nothing from it. They can count themselves very lucky! Our final delivery wasn't good today. Too many corners and free kicks were just catching practise for their keeper and we MUST learn to take our chances!!
Loick playing today would have made such a huge difference! Their defence is so so slow. Loick would have torn them apart as he did in the first game.
They really aren't a good team and if they go up they will be put to the sword every week unless they change a lot of their team. I think that if we meet them when it really counts, in the play-offs, we can beat them easily with our full strength team. The lads did brilliantly today and they all battled away right till the end. I thought Joe Healy, Pughy and Cumbers were exceptional today. However, Andy Sambrook is not a midfielder and was left wanting today!! Poor control, passing and is far too slow. Thought Cracknell looked good today. Tired near the end but once he gets hits fitness up he could be really good for us.
Not that I want to dwell on their ground too much however....... after all the abuse I heard and read about our ground last week today from their point of view was an absolute shambles. Two turnstiles open for 2500 people!! Madness. Seemed to spend most of my time queuing today- 20 minutes to get in, 30 minutes for a burger, 10 minutes to have a piss. Yes their ground might look good but its really no better managed than ours. I'm sure I over heard Barry Hobbins muttering "Amateurish" to himself about the situation and that says a lot!!
Very bitter and disappointed wings fan here!!

Because Dartford have an army of people working for them to do the advertising, and can afford to let under 12s in free ... we have two people, one a pensioner, running the club, and cant afford to let anyone in without squeezing every penny.
Although I agree with your "if only" it just isnt going to happen in the next decade.
Note from Dartford forum ... Wells their GK, man of the match on Boxing Day, and today, says it all ... you dont win every game ... a good general performance although not perfect, play like that every game from now til the end of the season and we will be in the play-offs, simples.
Keep the faith .... COYWs

Thought sammy did well today, thought all of our boys gave everything just couldnt put any of the chances away. Pughie couldnt get many of his good chances away perhaps he was too desperate to score today and possibly go out on a goal.
Apart from 20 mins in the boxing day game and 10 mins after they scored today we were the better team, we pinned them in trying to get an equaliser. Set pieces were poor for us today and just lacked a bit of composure. Cumbers for me was excellent, Cracknell was everywhere and getting stuck in. We gave too many free kicks away at the back and that was really their only real weapon against us.
No doubt they will think they deserved a win, we know they were lucky but if you take your chance and the oppo dont take one out iof a hatful of chances you could argue its not your fault if you win.
Our support was excellent must have been a good 500 there from Park View Road. the terrace was packed and we had lots in the seats and on the wooden man side.
Well played lads now come out and put Truro to the sword from the off. Good performance given we were weakened without the gaffer and Loick. We do have strength in the squad just need to believe in ourselves.
Hopefully Pughie stays but if he goes he goes with our blessing and we hope he comes back home at some stage. I feel someone decent will come in for him if he stays, but its his call.
COYW.
Interviews with Jamie Day and Joe Healy later tonight and highlights sometime in next day or so hopefully.

First half was a terrible example of football, genuinely can't think of a higlight from it. Second half we played by far the better stuff, hit the bar twice and had one cleared off the line, but if you don't take your chances you only have yourself to blame and 1 point from 2 games against them isn't good enough.
On the subject of their ground I was very unimpressed given how quick they are to criticise ours. I can't see why you'd let U12s in for free to a game that would already be very popular rather than to a game which would have far fewer people. There must've been a few hundred kids there that were running around the game while it was on and didn't care at all about the match.
Also, there was a group of pikey Dartford fans in the second half in the Welling end which were shouting things out such as ''break his legs'' when Pugh was on the ball, which was pretty disgusting.
Interviews will be up in an hour with Jamie on todays game and the possibility of Andy Pugh moving in the next few days. Plus Joe Healy makes his debut infront of the after match cameras.

Didn't see or hear them/ that - which if you say is true is bang out of order.
Was proud of our support as ever today, as Im sure the players & staff were.
One funny moment was 15 mins or so before KO, myself & a few others ended up on a balcony over looking the massive Q of peeps waiting to come in - & us breaking out singing "C'MON WELLING, C'MON WELLING...." whilst holding aloft some scarfs. The look on some of the dartford supporters was classic.
How we came away without a point is unreal, can anyone recall how many corners we had? Must have been easy in double figures.
I thought Joe had a very good game & should have imo been MOTM. We will miss him once his suspension kicks in.

"...we don't look like conceding at the moment..."
That's why we've conceded in each of the last two games - costing us at least three points. Look at today's goal: nothing ball into the box, cr*p defending gives away a poor corner and then we let them have not one but two free headers.
I try to remain impartial, but things like this from rose tinted glasses just annoy me ...
"Louis Wells what can i say, best goalkeeping performance in a darts shirt for a long time Pulling off some great saves which no doubtingly kept us in the game when it was 0-0, and a few at the end to hold on and clinch us the 3 deserved points."
How can a goalkeeper get MOTM in both games yet Dartford claim "three deserved points" ...
I have a couple of mates who are Dartford fans and one of them said to me yesterday that their goals had been against the run of play, and that Welling had been on top in both games. We need to finish teams off when we're on top, especially Dartford! We've played them four times in just over a year, have been the better team in all the matches, and yet we've only won one of those matches. I know we've been saying it all season, but we need to take our chances and cut out the defensive errors that seem to have cost us points so many times this season. We do look better with Parkinson at the back, but I'd prefer Sambrook next to him.
If you think that our defence needs strengthening, what about that defender Chris Davis that is on loan at Chatham Town? I heard that he is playing well there, got MOTM on Monday.
