Happy Hour for Truro on 7th January 1:30pm-2:30pm

Have contacted Barry today and can confirm there will be a Happy Hour with an as yet unknown real ale in the Wings Bar before Truro game. Food will be sausage and bean casserole or chicken curry at £2. I will be having some of that as bound to be a cold day!!

As Russ and Gary have sorted a new projector we will hopefully have highlights of recent games up on the big screen or the goals dvd if i havent got time to edit the highlights in HQ for the DVD.

Will update nearer the time with the real ale and firm up everything.

Excellent news. I really hope they put on a different beer. As far as I can recall there have only been three alternating beers since the Happy Hour initiative started and two have been from St Austell. Would Truro supporters be happy to travel all that way to find a Cornish ale on sale?

If the cables are linked up then the big screen will be playing the Dartford games highlights from Boxing Day and Jan 2nd or the 100 Welling goals DVD (which is in the club shop at the moment on sale).

I do not want to appear critical as I am very happy that there is regualr Real Ale on the bar, but as far as I can recall we have had St Austell Trelawny, St Austell Dartmoor Best and Adnams Lighthouse only this season.

Would it be possible to have a beer not seen in the clubhouse before at some point? There are many breweries in Kent now. Can't we try some of their ales?

My dear Danson Mark,

As always, you make a very good point. There is a lovely little brewery in Faversham from which I understand produces a lovely pint called Hürlimanns.

They also produce Oranjeboom, Asahi, and either Cobra or Kingfisher if you want fizzy stuff best served ice cold.

A beer otherwise known as Hooligans, and for good reason. It's about time there were Shepherd Neame beers served in the bar.

We only need a drop of the old 'wife beater' (Stella) & it sounds like a fine selection for the afternoon...:D

Anyone else got any alternative names for their tipple?

Advertising on here and by Wingit on the Truro website paid dividends.

Real Ale and food sold out. I reckon a second barrel would have gone too.

Just shows what a bit of promotion can do.
