What's better for the club, Pugh staying or leaving?
Depends on the offer!

Encouraging further offers I expect, which makes me think maybe Pugh doesnt fancy the club or deal that has come in so far.
If the club does n't like the offer they should reject it. If the player does n't like the offer he should reject it. Don't piss about!
There will be more offers from other clubs, so no need for either party to accept the first offer that comes a long if the deal is not right! Public statement from one of the Hobbins please? .... Is that a pig flying past my window?

Daisy has said he doesnt want Pughie to go but he will not stand in his way, from talking to Barry i gather he wouldnt be too unhappy if Pughie held on and stayed with us.
I'm not sure the club could do more, theyve said theyve accepted an offer, the boss has said its up to Pugh. The club wanted the info out there to the fans in the interview.
I think club and Pugh would be better off staying and not selling to what could prove to be a low offer for all concerned. Pugh is very hot property and he will deffo get better and bigger clubs and more money if he sat tight. IMHO.

Can we all try and calm down and not get too excited about Andy Pugh.
Admitedly he has scored a number of goals, some of which were quite good. But seriously, can anyone remember the last time he scored?.....Let me tell you.....17th December 2011. That was last year, for goodness sake, what club in their right mind would sign a player that has obviously lost the ability to score?
Unbeknown to anyone, Matron and I invited Andy to play in our annual out-patients v in-patients football competition. After getting special clearance from the FA he duly turned up and represented the out-patients. Wearing his Dunlop Green Flash pro trainers and supporting a Royal red coloured straight-jacket he took his position as the lone striker. And guess what? Could he score.....? No!
My advice for any professional football team looking at Andy is to wait till the end of the season and then come in for him, assuming he has scored some goals between now and then.

Having just returned to my room after an accompanied walk around the secure hospital gardens, I have found an article in today's asylum's newsletter.
World exclusive! I have it with absolutely no authority whatsoever that a Mr Pugh who may or may not play football for a team is or is not staying at that team a source said. Furthermore I can confirm that there may or may not have been an agreement with that team either in a higher or lower division to offer a substantial amount of money for his services.
An interview with the star footballer was refused but an unauthorised spokesperson said that the speculations were totally unfounded.
But people who believed that the rumour was true remain unconvinced.

Yes good luck to Pughie - has served the club really well and deserves another crack at full time football. Doesn't look like there is a sell on clause which could be a big mistake...
Hopefully Loick and Luis can step up to the mark and Daisy can bring in another option as well? I am sure the management have had a good look around at a few potential replacements as this move has been on the cards for weeks.
McBean will be a great signing IF Daisy , Ash and Frosty can get him focused. Hes proven he can get 15-20 goals in this league. To get someone of that quality immediately is excellent by Daisy. He seems to have lost his way a bit but the boy has talent if he can be rejuvenated.
Good luck to Pughie, bit gutted hes joining a conference team during the season, but if the boy wants to go then he should go. Hes been superb for us and could have walked last season or in pre season.
If it doesnt work out he may return at some stage in the future where he will be welcomed back. I think ** grand is derisory though, How birchall is worth 65 and sheringham 25 but Pugh ** i have no idea. However if the player wants to go Jamie and the club have done the right thing.
I take it weve got a friendly and a sell on as well.
We do seem to be the oily rag to cambridge's organ grinder here, i would have gone public to get a better deal more in line with what hes worth. I wouldnt be so grateful when clubs tell us to be quiet infuture as all it does it makes it easier for them to sign the player. When clubs went for birchall, Parmenter broadcast it to the world then they had a 3 way fight for his signature and got a fantastic fee.
No wonder cambridge wanted it kept quiet theyve got a great player for loose change.

Very good luck to Andy, he's been a superb player for us. If the fee is £15k I think that's disappointing as, in my view, he's a better all round player than Sheringham and I would have thought £30k would have been a more realistic figure.
Really hope that the club have negotiated a sell on clause. I don't think a friendly matters as Cambridge would not attract much of a crowd.
Warren McBean as a replacement. I think JGFC is right - he seems to have lost his way a bit recently. If Jamie et al can get him back on form then I think that this could be very exciting. I have seem some excellent performances from him over the years. What we do know is that our management team can bring the best out of players and players want to play for them
do we really want a player like this..................
Warren McBean : "however he is well known to think he is bigger than the club and sulk if things aren't going his way. Warren is renowned for changing clubs several times through a season"
Someone doesnt like Wazza and thats the trouble with wikipedia, anyone can write anything.
Im backing Day to get the best out of McBean, he used to piss me off by being so good against us, so we know he can do the business for us.
Look at it this way, if Wazza does the business, its another testament to our management. McBean has seen Pugh go after being released at a league club and has motivation.
Give McBean a chance, he deserves one, its not like Daisy has brought someone in whos not good enough. This guy has scored as many as anyone.

I assume its a Welling fan posting on the Welling forum, but I would take the opinion of anyone needing to Google or Wiki "McBean", as a Conference South fan, with a pinch of salt.
Of course we trust Daisy to make the right choices but the player coming in doesn't hold a candle (or indeed possess the attitude) to the one going out.
At the moment it feels like going to the shops and exchanging a bottle of Champagne and getting a bottle of Pomagne in return
Lets give the guy a chance, I'm hoping that he will prove a suitable replacement. All the best to Pughie, he's been superb during his time with us and I'm sure he will say farewell via the forum.
Will also miss his old man in a sad way, no one could shout "travel" or "relax" in the same way. Always encouraging players and was great for slaughtering a referee when needed.

A bit harsh, he was 2nd top scorer in this league twice and is 25.
If Pugh wanted away at the first offer by another club, what can you do? to replace him with someone who has proved he can score is good business. You can bet if Day , Ash and Frosty cant get it of him they will look elsewhere but hes worth a shot and its down to him.
You could argue, all of the players we have need turning around as have been released from elswhere, its man management that is our coaching teams forte, this could be a great signing or it could backfire but we wont know for a few games.
Hopefully Pughie does the business for Cambridge as we all think he is good enough and we get a juicy sell on.

Harsh but fair. All the clubs he has played for at this level (Chelmsford, Sutton, Havant, Bromley etc...etc...) say the sme thing - undoubted ability but doesn't always want to share it with the rest of us. The fact that he has had more clubs than Tiger Woods at 25 speaks volumes....
Our management have made some very good decisions and I hope this is another one but am far from convinced.
Nothing to lose if he does perform and, if he doesn't, then hopefully we can say "thanks but no thanks" and bring someone else in.
McBean might be reading this, and I can pretty much guarantee Daisy will be ... so keep negative thoughts to one side ... a new player, with something to prove to us, himself and others ... Im sure Daisy is no mug based on his fantastic run in the job so far ... proven goalscorer at this level, lets trust in his decision.
This is an internet forum - where does it say we have to be positive about everything? I have already stated my trust in Daisy and hope he can get the best out of Wazza where (many) others have failed.
And if the player is reading this then I hope he is thinking "I will show that f****** Wingnut just what I can do" and score a hattrick against Truro at the weekend!
Well, assuming Mr McBean does read this, then can I be one of the first to say welcome to PVR. You are very welcome to our club and will have some great fans supporting you through thick and thin. I hope your stay is a fruitful one both for yourself and the club. Oh, and if your scoring record is as awful as Andy Pugh's then we'll do the same to you and sell you on.
Healy reacted positively to people saying not sure about signing him 2 years ago, he rammed it down everyones throats and proved he is class. As long as people arent out of order, as you say he can do the business, i hope hes got a tshirt for under his shirt that says are you watching wingnut haha.
