Fantastic signing a great goalie and apart from injuries he would have been a pro keeper i am sure.
His signing though reminded me of this goal below: Holloway was in goal the day Ryan Martin scored this wonder free kick, one of the best goals ive ever seen live.
Nearly always seems to have a blinder against us so hope he can be the answer between the sticks for us after multiple keepers over the last two seasons.
As has been mentioned already a keeper who can train with our back four week in week out HAS to be a big plus.
From a Chelmsford perspective (we had him in 2009/2010) he had great reflexes and athleticism so pulled off some fantastic saves including one against Dartford which probably goes down as the best save I have ever seen live, but unfortuantly all that counted for nothing because he has really poor command of his area and is very weak on crosses. Ultimately thats why we released him mid season and went back to the less talented but more reliable Ashley Harrison. Everytime we have faced him since he has shown exactly the same i.e. capable of pulling off some fantastic saves but then flapping at crosses/getting into mix ups with his defenders to undo his good work.
Yeah and you also had Pullen and Pentney :P and Searle got away with a big flap the other day at Welling.
Pullen was worse than Holloway granted (i.e. flapping without the excellent shot stopping), but Searle and Petney are better than Holloway. I'm hoping Petney is released by Colchester this summer so we can snap him up.
Holloway actually started really well for us but after a couple of poor performances he turned pretty poor for us and had become a liability.
According to Facebook its signed and sealed and he trained last nite ... also, Ben Martin thinks he needs a knee op, oh dear. Lets hope Maidenhead is off !!!!!

Rule number 1:
"What's said on Facebook stays on Facebook"
Which you clearly broke by announcing Holloway had signed!
