Ive already suggested this Andrew, for the Mascot grand national, we will get a local athletics club to provide a 200m runner. Several Teams put ringers in. The good thing is the dog costume has open feet so the ringer can run fast. John Regis lives in sidcup, he will do. :)

You can see Sutton Uniteds mascot in the 2nd video, the Giraffe.

I liked it, a little 'cornie' but it put a smile on my face.
Credit must go to the trainer who must have worked tirelessly to get it to shake hands, bow and wave to us all. I'd like to see it again.

Great idea as the kids will love it and want to come back to see the dog. Now we are going community route, the dog will bring in people and will be a hit at danson festival and if we went the infants school route then that too. Great idea from WUSA.

It makes us a proper football club, cos proper football clubs have mascots that do mascot things and enter mascot races which will give us something else to get excited about, although our beautiful steward who can only be in her 20's could perhaps be replaced by an Olympic standard sprinter for the races. Can it have a fight sometime with the Woking one as well?

So it was a female, that clears up why she curtsied to the officials. Pity she didn't bite the useless bunch.

Good idea though. Kids will love it and there's bound to be some marketing oportunity here.

Now all you need is a name.

As others have said, a great idea for the kids.  I would suggest Bartley as the mascot's name after the greatest Wings legend of them all.

Another step towards us becoming a big club.  Bring on the electronic scoreboard.

Good fun, it made me laugh and I took a photo on my phone and sent it to the wife saying "new welling signing revealed".  Keep up the good work welling - although it would have been better if it was something related to a unicorn or a wing etc.

The Danson Dog is good enough for me!

We tried to find a peagus type costume, but found non suitable within our budget, the only way we could of done it was to have on specially made at a conciderable cost. The plan was to use it for the Danson Show as a link to the community - hence the name Danson the Dog.

Well done morph and everyone involved with this idea. If it is promoted well at the Danson Show it should attract some of the younger generation with their families to visit our pitch, and hopefully take part in the activities we have on offer.

Let us all pull together and endeavor to make this year's show a really big success for Welling United FC. The public turn out in large numbers for this event, so we must take advantage of this opportunity.
