Its also a good thing when theres interest in our players. Weve come a long way from having some (not all) mercinaries or kent league standard players who want champagne wages after we got relegated from the Conference. We are getting excellent players with great character and having clubs interested is a good thing, another plus is, its a big motivation for the players, do well and you will get noticed. Thats a big plus for us in attracting players. They know no one begrudges them if they get a good move because they give everything for us. As long as we get fair (not stupid large or small) compensation.

This link is not working? but this is what Ive found... just on some 'Bournemouth fans chat/rumour site'...hardly Sky Sports breaking news, & thats no disrespect meant to Parky, we all are aware he would be more than capable of doing a great job at a higher level.
07 Apr 2012 09:54:22 Bournemouth have offered pre season trials To Welling Utd skipper Jack Parkinson,Winchester City's free scoting striker Jamie White and Poole Town's young LB Will Spetch
I which people would not post stuff like this!
Its not a case of me with my head in the sand, It just don't help at this stage in the season. All the team want to do & have proved all too well is to keep up the pressure in the playoff spots & finish off what a pro' job they havebeen doing this season.
RANT OVER (for now).
Come on you WINGS!!!!!!!

Listen, if players go to better things and we are compensated, everyone is a winner and we will attract equally promising players.
The one thing i am not happy about is that IF JP goes there on trial, IMO theyve tapped him up as he is contracted this season i believe??? The good thing is hes been here for almost all of his mens football, has developed in two positions and has attracted interest and offers frm a few clubs upto League 1, i cant see a tribunal offering £5k or something equally insulting for a future England Captain.

If any of this is true, Bournemouth may have gone to the club first and said they would like to offer him a trial there in the summer, rather than 'tapped him up'.
They may indeed but he would be out of contract so they wouldnt have to. It would be a bit silly to say ok hes under contract tell you what let us speak to him so we can give him a trial when he is out of contract and we can get him through a tribunal rather than pay your valuation.

A couple of seasons ago Parky had a trial at Bournemouth when Eddie Howe was at the helm there. Not long after Howe left for Burnley, possibly scuppering any move (had he liked what he had seen, that is).
So it isn't anything new - they've always had a history of cherry picking good non-league talent.
Anton Robinson, Liam Feeney, Matt Tubbs, Charlie Austin, who would have joined them from Poole Town if they had had money, have all passed through there in the recent past.
Can't knock the guy for trying to turn his passion into a full-time living - but would be a shame to lose such an immense player, if they were impressed. A least we could get a good fee - should it come to that - seeing as they now have money to burn.
