I've heard we are the only team not honouring season tickets for the play offs. What a surprise. You would think that after 42 games and the money we've all spent it would be appreciative of the club to reward the loyal fans. We might get a crowd of 800 of 1800 for the play off 2nd leg but out of those, how many would be season ticket holders? Big minority. Most would be either people turning up who haven't been for years, neutrals, or away fans who would all expect to pay. For this historic match i would pay a bundle to see us in the play offs but it is a bit of a kick in the nuts if you ask me.
Gary its all on the other thread and I do tend to agree with your sentiments. I did hear a rumour that exec lounge holders are not included in having to pay but as I am not amongst those elite just a poor peasant of a season ticket holder who sits in the stands
My original view was that all should pay for the play off games as they are additional games requiring extra payments to the players.
However as all three of our fellow semi-finalists have announced that their season ticket holders will be admitted to their home legs free, I believe the club should now review this decision. If they do not do so, it gives the impression that the club cares less about its loyal supporters than other clubs do.
The club are being bullied imho into allowing 200 people in for nothing as people want an already great deal to be extended to the play offs having witnessed a superb season.
In cash money thats a possible £2400 we are just throwing away, which could be beneficial to the future of the club.
However next season there is absolutely no excuse not to be commercially savvy and organised from the middle of the summer and hit the ground running, When we go up we are going to need to commercially get our act in order.
Play offs are POST SEASON or AFTER SEASON i wonder if woking fans will demand a refund of £12 for not playing in the play offs?
Season tickets will admit holders to all Woking FC Blue Square Bet South League home games and give preferential treatment to purchase tickets for all-ticket matches and tickets for away games where they are limited.

I believe a season ticket is for pre season friendlies and league games . Cup games arent included so why should play offs? Also do you know if the league take a cut of the semi finals? or if we got to the final and hosted it would people want in for that one too? Even if we have to give the oppo 40% of the gate and the league 20%?
Gary it isnt good PR its keeping 200 regulars happy but it could be seen as foolish if the business is still in recovery, i am amazed some people cant see that.
I can see how season ticket holders would think they should get in and more so as other clubs have made an ex gratia decision, but that doesnt mean that the club have to do or would be right in doing it. Say they need to find 5k for a bill down the road and they cant pay it as they tossed away 2.5k on a freebie? What would people say then?
Dartford have many different sponsorship schemes, The golf course, the 3g pitches loads of advert hoardings, a great sponsor of their academy in virgin atlantic who also sponsored round the world flights for their club xmas draw. The fact they can do free entry is a glowing tribute to the situation they are in, but remember we pay a huge rent over a season to the council. If we didnt then we could pay for a commercial manager and offer bells and whistles to fans.
I just think some people are being blinkered and not seeing the whole story. Lets try and get things sorted, so in years to come when stable we can look after the fans, not toss it all away and go back to square one to be politically correct and save people £12.
The fact we have gone through the season and kept upto date with HMRC and kept debts being reduced (or at least heard nothing to tell us any different) and had no scares is a massive massive plus to add to the players monumental achievements, lets continue steady recovery and not jeopadise things or act without prudence.
If the club felt bullied into tossing away a few grand but fell behind in other areas i would be massively pis/sed off at the irony.

No doubt more costs involved but a crowd of say a 800-1000 adults x £11 means the club are in a win win situation. Even minus the season ticket holders the club will still make money. Could have been a nice gesture and good PR for the club.

Make that £12 - according to the downloadable poster on website.
Although the other three are allowing season ticket holders in for free and we are not, please remember the other three clubs are financially sound to the best of our knowledge, and we are not.
I do recall Patsy putting a question about this around a month ago only had one reply to this though .......WDYPTC !!! (Mark X)
Now does that mean... Why Dont You Phone The Club ? OR IN LIGHT OF THE ABOVE Why Dont You PAY The Club..!!!!!! (The Laughter of WDYPTC is now lost !!!)
In my opinion and Im NOT a season ticket holder this year is yes Pay ! Because of the clubs financial problems, Like JGFC stated and MAT THE HAT agreed with.
When I did have a season ticket there was never any terms and conditions or any statement saying about Play Offs.!!
BUT I DO feel season ticket holders should be rewarded for not only loyalty but financial support.
So after a bit of searching on the internet I noticed that in the Championship play offs The 4 clubs are charging supporters for entry but SEASON TICKET HOLDERS recieve a REDUCED RATE. To me this is the best way that we should approach this. ie SEASON TICKET HOLDERS £8 and Non season ticket holders £12.
If this was to be extended even to the opposition you may find that their season ticket holders would be more willing to come and bumper crowd plus Cash and Results pending everyones a winner.!!
This all may get slated But to me the most sensible decision would be reduced entry as a loyalty reward and terms and conditions sorted for future seasons.

Is it as high as 200? I would have no problem if the league insisted all pay (as the FA does for cup games) or if all clubs in our league were 'all pay'. Makes you wonder why the other clubs have done it? Is it their way of saying thanks to the season ticket holders, good PR or can they afford to not worry about the revenue?
In my opinion if you buy a season ticket - it's for the season, and our season hasn't finished.
i think it would be far prudent that IF we did well out of the play offs financially the club rewarded season ticket holders by paying for their entry for a cup game next season and stood the bill then out of the play offs money. If we had a poor gate in the play offs we would be shooting ourselves in the foot.

can't people just pay? it's £11/£12 and the money is going to a good cause - it's not like we are being charged premierleague prices at £80-£100 a ticket
I can see both sides but the facts are that all 4 Clubs have at least one extra games revenue and the other 3 clubs have agreed season tickets are valid be that on their interpretation of the word season or as an ex gratia gesture to fans who have shown their committment to the club by purchasing season tickets. I can live with the whatever decision is made today but personally I do not think it is too much for the club to share the windfall with those who were committed enough to purchase season tickets when its future was very much rockier than it is today.

Being a season ticket holder I never expected the play offs to be part of the deal, I think I have to agree with JGFC the club have to make sure they get the most out of these play offs from a commercial perspective, I don't believe we are in a position to throw money away, Especially when you look at some of the crowds in the final 3 or 4 games of the season well below what I or the club would have expected. I do not have an issue with paying £12

Neither do I. I didn't buy a season ticket this season and will be paying £12 regardless. What gets me is that Dartford aside, the other 2 clubs in the mix are Basingstoke and Sutton, who have quickly and readily said they will be accepting season tickets. All I'm saying is do we want as big and as partisan a crowd in for our play-off games or not? And will not accepting season tickets for the play-off matches negatively affect how particularly new fans might buy them next season, when we'll need attendances to rise?
Not about the £12 but about how this club can, and in some instances should, reward the fans. Just a small gesture would go a long way. Imagine if all fans had a voucher at the Basingstoke game that got £3 or £5 off the play off semi? Simple really. Instead we look at other clubs who do offer the fans something back.
Gary, last season remember the Bromley offer they made to the fans?
This season theyve done Happy hour all season at reduced prices and some other clubs started copying after the Wings led the way, They also did a voucher allowing people to get in half price at a league game. I dont remember many other clubs doing this.
The early bird season ticket was too cheap £170 is miles below most other clubs. next years should be about £225 if in this league and £255 if in Premier minimum. 21 league games and 3 friendlies £288 so £63 saving is decent £118 is mental. Season Ticket holders had a superb deal this season and non season ticket holders had a voucher for half price game and happy hours galore.
We all know they need to improve communication and still need to do something, anything, commercially but they have done some excellent things this year that is being forgotten about that other clubs either didnt do or copied.
Its a decent debate and i am sure it gives the club food for thought for next season.
One more sleep till we can roar our players in the Blue Square Bet South Playoffs.

For me it about the image of the club, whatever the rights ands wrongs and merits of this issue, the simple fact is three clubs have decided to let season tickets holders in and we are the only club that has not and to me that simply sends out the wrong message. (intentionally or not)
I feel to protect the image of the club, we should follow suite and allow the season ticket holders in for the semi-final home leg.
Had the club announced season tickets were valid but Dartford, Sutton and Basingstoke announced they weren't, would there be a clamour on here for WUFC to fall in line with the other three?
I suspect not, which makes other clubs' decisions no argument whatsoever. You either believe/ expect season tickets to be valid or you don't.
Are season ticket holders 'really' going to miss this as they won't pay the money? I cannot believe that.....maybe let's reward all those that go to all the away games or those that buy a bonus ball or have more than 2 cups of coffee. Biggest game for years and we are squabbling about £12...good grief!!!...shall we get a thread about getting behind the guys.....also remember that this isn't a windfall as players still need to be paid as it extends the season
Dartford's early bird season ticket price was £195. My recollection is that ours was about £170? If so maybe its not surprising that Dartford included the play off game. Leaving aside friendlies the home games would have cost £231 this season. I reckon that's a big enough discount already and that I've had a pretty good deal. I bought my season ticket expecting 21 games - if the club changes its mind then I'll be demanding a refund if we don't make the play offs next year. I hope the club stays firms on this and if a few season ticket holders disagree so be it. I don't think any potential season ticket holder would be put off by having to pay on Sunday. I hope we get a bumper crowd and it helps the club financially.

If there is a bumper crowd I would be happy with the small gesture being that I'm still allowed to use the season ticket holder / passes turnstile to save having to queue.

good point actually
ill take that trade - £12 for no waiting in line for ages!
