Poor retort mr bank / top darter

wings would have given darts 1500 initially imo as we can segregate all sides of PVR with gates, so probably cricket side and either park or road end.

It is 100% NOT the club's fault. I'm sure they are annoyed as well. Segregation will also reduce the capacity, and increase the cost of "policing" the game as they will need more stewards etc to enforce the segregation.

4000 tickets at £12 is £48,000 ... drop that to say £30,000 given a lot won't pay £12 ... OAPs, kids, etc. £30,000 les costs might drop down to £20,000. We get 25% share. £5,000. Players wages for the extra week £4000-4500. We're left with nothing out of a totally sold out game and the biggest attended game of the season. The league must be laughing all the way to the bank that Dartford got the home final.

League quids in. Dartford make a killing on programmes, beer, burgers. Little old Welling get nothing.

Come on Welling, take promotion as a compromise.

I am reliably informed that THE LEAGUE is in charge of this game and not the home club. Now whilst segregation may reduce the attendance (and affect the allocation of tickets) I can't see why there is such a wide discrepancy....

Have we underestimated the appetite of the Welling fans for this game or has our club rolled over without any resistance YET AGAIN.....??

Having had much contact with the Club over the last few days on a variety of matters I can assure you they are not at all happy, are not just rolling over and are still trying to get a more satisfactory allocation of tickets.  However as it stands we have 800 tickets.

its pretty unusual for one of the teams in a final to be given 20% of the tickets. i can state that none of this is the clubs doing so how about getting behind them rather than saying have some backbone. weve sold nearly half of the paultry allocatioon in 2 and half hours...

i would ask for half the gate on that basis and check the competition rules or ask the game be moved to the valley.

the answer to that is that dartford have given us 800

it looks like we could sell 2000 the way the tickets are going.

If we have sold half our paltry allocation in two hours then we should clearly have had more in the first place.

It is the LEAGUE who organise this game. It is THEY who should sort the allocation and it is OUR CLUB who should be chasing them to do this.

I am prepared to admit that the club are not at fault here but they need to grow a pair (and this is not an isolated incident) and make sure their club's fans are treated properly.

This is why a final should always be played at a neutral ground imo, non league is far too big nowadays. Surely if the bsp go to wembley the leagues below should be a step up from playing at a home ground. One thing we can't fault in this instance is bad communication. Lots of updates on the website and great use of twitter by the club too.

The League have been suspiciously quiet about the whole fixture all along and are arguably to blame as regards admin and organisation. Their website doesn't carry much useful general match information.

I have my tickets and am all set for my Sunday trip to the Ponces Conservative Club.

They asked for more when the allocation by dartford was known. They are doing all they can to get more tickets and every avenue available to them as a matter of urgency.

Im not sure that they can do anymore or do it quicker.

My suspicion is that it will come down to how the physical segregation works. Normally it is a home\away match and in the FA Cup you are obliged to give 25% to the away support. As I understand it, you are not liable for that percentage in League games so the barriers probably give the split that is shown. However this is not a 'normal' home\away league fixture. They have home advantage due to location already and should not have it so disproportionately in the crowd.

Agree that the club have been good here, we've been shafted by the league/Dartford not Welling. I was expecting us to get a minimum of 1000, I wouldn't be surprised if all 800 tickets are gone by this time tomorrow

Two teams in a final. 800 is 125 over our average. we get about 16% over our average they get 200% over their average?. In a final? Hows that right?

League need to step in quickly or Darts need to come out and say heres another 700 tickets. IMHO.

Will be interesting how the league and darts sort the situation that theyve created.

I said to friends last night that the venue should have been moved to Priestfield or the Valley once the finalists were known. It's the match all of SE London/Kent non-league have been wanting to see not just the supporters of the finalists. Common sense has not prevailed. You could have sold out this fixture twice if not more.

Totally agree with you. Just imagine if the champions league final was split like this there would be a massive outcry from the FA not just the fans.

Yeah but that was Dartford's decision to give us the car park end. They could give us half of one of the stands as well, so we're only limited to 800 because they've chosen for it to be that way

I wouldn't be surprised if the fact that the league play off rules say that the final is at the highest placed club that they regard that as giving home advantage with all that goes with it. I am not saying it is right but that is what they will hide behind.

So what percentage of the tickets are Dartford keeping to sell for themselves? And assuming they're taking a large majority, is this allowed?

The issue about us getting more tickets will be tough as if we are selling them like hotcakes imagine what Dartford's are like ... I bet they have sold most of theirs already ... so come later today it'll be null and void, they wont be able to give us more allocation as there wont be any tickets left to give.

Bearing in mind they have had an extra day (including evening opening) while they cut the corner off of the Welling tickets I would say we are both selling at roughly the same rate.

This just off the Dirtford forum

"If we end up giving Welling more tickets for any other reason than we can't sell ours (which i doubt) then it is a disgrace. 20% is a fair cut. We finished second for a reason."

What a joke!! Surly it is a neutral game not a home match for them!! Would like to know what is happening with kit and dressing rooms?? No doubt they will get preferential treatment as "they finished 2nd for a reason!!"

Can't wait to beat these muppets and put them in their place!!

So their high security method of enforcing the segregation is to cut the corners off our tickets.

No way could anyone forge that then!

I understand that the programme for the match will not be a Dartford issue but a "Special" produced by the League.  Does this mean that the League take the full profits from programme sales or do the two clubs get a share?

I suppose that will mean it'll cost about 4 quid, have 1 page each on the 2 finalists and the rest on ads and crap. Think I'll give it a miss

As I work over in Ilford tomorrow for the 7.30pm closing is the only time I can get over to the Club. I understand members of WUSA can reserve their tickets. If this is the case how do I do that.

Who is Mr Bank and why is that a poor effort?

Just reporting the facts as taken from the Dartford forum.

As a matter of interest, if the game was to have been played at PVR, how many tickets would Dartford receive, bearing in mind the ground was rammed on Boxing Day and the declared attendance was 1,815?

Dear JgFc

Thank you very much for the quick & helpful reply.

Just another point. I am new to this non League set up so I may be missing something. There must be a plethora of Football League grounds that  could be available as a neutral venue. Now Dartford might baulk at Charlton but there are other grounds in South and East London and I am sure we would all do a bit of travelling so more people had access to the game.

Let's face it if we go up and get to the Play Off Final who's going to say "well sod that I'm not travelling to Wembley". I suppose it's just a case of the level of incompetence shown by Football administrators at the Premier League, Football League and FA level just cascades all the way down the pyramid.

Anyway, let's enjoy the day and hope that everyone who wants a ticket gets one.
