So far i believe we have got Charlton and Cambridge United lined up. I think the club are trying to get another couple down as well.

AFC Wimbledon and Woking would be good, both well supported. But another league club and a conference club or a foreign team would be good, you always see a foreign team or two come over for pre season and play non league teams.

Havant and Canvey Island (i think) have played spanish and dutch teams and Dover played a foreign non league team.

Also heard we have agreed to go to Erith Town again but not sure of any other away games yet. Hastngs or Lewes away would be good.

A friendly with Woking?  No thanks.  I, for one, would not be there.

It is likely we could loose one or two players to league teams. Would be nice if that happened we could get a PSF out of the deal. I am also wondering if any home fixtures would be affected by the olympics. Not due to Bexley roads being clogged but because uncle bill will be tied up in the Royal Borough next door.

We should start looking at teams also formed in 1963 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Association_football_clubs_established_in_1963

Maybe an away trip to PAS Terhan.............Bursapsor formed in 63 would be good to get plus they have Scot Carson,so if we could get them could be quite a coup

Lets also think of what the friendlies are for.....Yes a couple are for money....BUT

.....Some (the lower down clubs) are for trying new players and whittling them down

......The others are to get the team going for the 'real' games

so it really has to be a mixture as well as looking at cost although I think a couple of games against similar opposition in the BSN would be a decent idea (Maybe B Stortford or Worcester)

Stuff the Olympics. Football takes priority as far as I'm concerned.

An absolute obscene amount of money wasted on a privileged few.

If they bring that bloody torch round my way I'll turn the hose pipe on it ban or no ban.

Having just checked my diary, I see that we are playing Charlton on Saturday 14th July 2012, two days before my medication gets increased by Matron.

Thamesmead Town FC away .. Their £1,000,000 "stadium" will be open then .. and (rather selfishly) it's walking distance for me.

Think we have some decent friendlies being discussed, hopefully some news soon when all sorted and confirmed dates. Club seem to be active in putting on some attractive games in pre season.

7th July is Danson Festival and I believe WUSA have a stall there. Can't be there myself friends wedding but I am sure they would be pleased to see you. Plus I think the beer tent will be nearby.

I can confirm that squarevanman is right!!!!!

Welling United will have many attractions on offer to the visitors at the BEXLEY SHOW, and hopefully this will prove to be our "best ever appearance".

Please support us if you can.............we intend to promote our club as much as we can to the Borough of Bexley and beyond.

REMEMBER THE DATES:   Saturday 7th July and Sunday 8th July 2012.

SEE YOU THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone is going to the Welling stand at the Bexley Show, if you have time pop over to the Retired Greyhound Trust Van.
I will be helping them at some point during both days with my greyhound Gabby. (Missed out on getting a second hound called Clarkey).
Feel free to say hello!
Thanks
