"We spoke to Ben (Greenhalgh), at the minute weve said to him come back in pre-season. I think he still has a bit to prove to us, another one who has massive amounts of ability.

"Hopefully we can get a good pre-season behind us, he can show people what he really can do instead of it being in flashes and a bit more consistent. We know if we can get that weve got another decent player on our hands."

Loved this, Ben is massively talented but you always felt he was only here training and keeping fit in his mind. He needs to sign and commit to us, realise hes a Welling player if he does  and then get his head down under Jamie and the coaches, he WILL develop, be consistant and he will get a move. He has to get his head sorted and get motivated. We have all seen he has the ability.

I hope he signs hes a big player when he is at it, Havant game as an example. When hes confident and focused he expresses himself and plays for the team and is something for other teams to worry about.

Couldn't agree more. I got the feeling that he thought he was better than us but if he realises that at this stage of his career he's not and commits himself then he will succeed.

Love to see him knuckle down and be a success.

I thought that I was Cynical biggrin  Ben needs lots of coaching to get into the Welling way. He might have been the bees knees at some foreign place, but now he is with us. Settle down, listen and learn - you might then go a long way.

Needs an attitude transplant

as well as......

The ability to look for other players in great scoring positions instead of going for the impossible 'every' time

Are you watching the same team as me...??

The one thing Ben does very well is lift his head and pick out a teammate. In fact he does it better than pretty much anyone else in our squad.

Yes he does overplay at times and get caught in possession but he will learn what he can and can't get away with at this level in time.

For me a definite talent who could and should go on to better things but would be an asset for us in the short term.

The game at Hampton was a case in point - twice in 3 mins he could have passed or crossed for a relatively easy goal but chose the impossible

His ball delivery is way above BSBS standard, the rest of his game will come together under Jamie and the coaches. Some of the balls he put in last season were just on a sixpence.

Hes young, ambitious and maybe had his head turned with the inter milan stuff. for me hes lost a bit of confidence in taking on men, when his confidence comes and his game gels then he will be one hell of a player, for his development ..... signing for a season is the best thing he will ever do, Loick, Pughy and Parky were all scouted and got moves. Ben has the potemtial to go higher faster.

Or he can go and have trials everywhere or "keep fit" with teams.

There is no doubt that he has bags of talent and I'm surprised that people question his attitude. He needs games under his belt to really progress and I agree that a season at one club would be his best way of building up a reputation.

Whether he chooses this route or is swayed by his advisors / agents to look elsewhere remains to be seen but I would not be worried if I saw he was in the Welling starting line up.
