Things you need to consider. What cost would welling have for staging games. staff for turnstiles, tea bar, bar etc etc. Cleaning ground and dressing rooms after game and being able to clean Saturdays mess before a Sunday game. Hours on pitch repairing divots etc etc. See if you can go to the club addressing some of these issues together and you might have a chance.
Only thing is, we have an academy and a ryman youth team aswell and the club might take the stance that they need to protect the pitch and also not favour one of the youth teams over all of the others.
Its definitely worth sitting down with the club and seeing if you can come to an arrangement. Its not just a case of using the pitch its all the stuff that involves the ground and the pitch and the time available, make that easier for the club and Barry might go for it if Jamie thinks it could help bring on players also.

The kent youth league has decided to create a 'Premier Division' which unlike what you may be thinking (open to the best teams in the county), is ONLY open for teams who play out their Senior Teams Home Grounds.
That means that the 4 league Champions Welling, Dartford, Tonbridge angels and Ramsgate will not be allowed to enter this league???
I think this is really unfair on the clubs that recruit the best players and coach the players to try and attract players for the senior side to now be undermined by lower level clubs who can use their makeshift home grounds!
Our only option is obviously to play out of Park View Road, but we all know this is unlikely to happen! A shame really as we now fear for the rentention of players who leave the club to player in the Premier Division!
Its definately an option we have, I mean the amount we spend on pitches would surely be a benefit for the club as opposed to going to a school pitch or another club.
We have such decent players who are definately prospects for the future (if not welling im sure they can go Ryman in which case sign them then loan them out or sell). So I hope something can be done so we can stay one of the power houses of youth football in Kent
Oh yeah i agree, obviously we wouldnt just expect the club to be left to it. In all fairness a large proportion of the stuff you just mentioned we do anyway (barring divot repair but this is something as you say we can discuss) we alreadyhave a force of parents that help out with all this.
We will have a chat as a team and see where we go. Just frustrating that the league decides to do this regardless of how viable for stronger higher teams it is.
I find it mad as like you say players will want to leave there teams to play in this Premier Division and understandably so as after reading baout it means all games are played on 1st team pitchs with 3 match officals.
I cant see the club allowing it as JGFC stated thee are lots of other youth teams as well all wanting to do the same.
I asked a couple of years ago if I could change my ladies team name to Welling United Ladies and play at PVR and Barrie cited that their an agreement with E&B first teams only at Play at PVR so I assume this would be the same answer for the youth teams.

Must be that WUFC and E&B first teams only play at PVR probally to stop E&B playing their reserves etc. there. I only assume this as another team used the ground for a few home games last season. Charlton under 18s' in the FA youth cup.
It is a bit of a running joke now, with teams like Welling United, Dartford,Ebsfleet, Dover, Tonbridge Angels and Dulwich Hamlet all now not in Premier league 1 and massive clubs like Lordswood,Cray Valley and Glebe who do not even have a senior side in it. Crazy! I can't blame the senior clubs for not allowing junior sides to use there first team pitch, but smaller kent clubs need the added revenue youth teams would bring in. How this looks to clubs and leagues outside the kent area god only knows, bet they can't believe it. Our under 18's will be strong again next season, 3 new players have been added, even the Glebe captain seems to have signed for us!
The Kent Youth League are shooting themselves in the foot by not having the best teams in their premier league with this ridiculous ruling. Even Premiership clubs do not have their reserves or youth teams playing at their first team home grounds. Pitches have to be nurtured and with two clubs playing all home games at PVR, and Charlton the occasional money spinning reserve game, there is enough wear and tear on the pitch without further fixtures.
I would suggest that by remaining outside the 'Premier' division you will be playing against other stronger teams in the same position and will be playing in a more competitive league. If any club in the Premier is strong you'll get to give them a game in a cup competition.
Agree to a certain extent. But just because these clubs like Dover Tonbridge etc have good 1st teams doesnt mean to say there youth teams are strong. I know ours is a good side but in this Premier Division it does allows players to play in grounds each week not to say they are fantastic but i suppose there better than most and also have 3 match officials so on that front it does give young players a better surface and having 3 officials makes the games more realistic rather than having parents running the line.
Also this was going ahead for a while so teams did have a chance to find a venue like Glebe have.
Ironically not! Glebe are an exception to the rule as they have no senior side.
Equally if there wa another pitch available then it's £90 for refs, £150+ for the pitch and £20 for food. For one game as a youth side the costs are too high. Just think its a shame that hey couldn't leave as it was and done geographically. Clearly it's all for show for the league regardless of standard or progression.
Oo right i see. Yeah i suppse it does cost more money but sometimes if you want better things they cost more money.
Like you say these teams will all be in the cups so will get a chance to play them there.
Yeah hopefully. In all fairness I think with a few additions to the team we should see a good strong side next season. Obviously with the loss or Ryan Flack and Steadman Callender due to age it will be difficult to replace the volume of goals. But the new players coming in should bulster this. Aswell as the team now being a second year, some of that disadvantage we had this season should subside.
Very exciting stuff. Updates on fixtures and progress will be updated throughout the season. Obviously current news can b found via the Under 18 tab.
