We need to bill the tonbridge game as a big xmas fixture on the 22nd also, Maybe even sell tickets 2 for £20 for the Tonbridge and Hornchurch games and make it free kids, Despite a dissapointing xmas double header we then also get sent to Sutton inbetween.
Got to play them all sometimes and thank christ we have a great pre season fixture list which should balance the books over the season and make up for weird xmas fixtures.
A decent fa cup run would be nice, i'm sure Daisy will remind the players thats a shop window with possible live TV from the first round.

So how does this work - discounting Bank Holidays we have ONE midweek away game at Chelmo in the first week of the season.
However we have FOUR midweek home games (Eastbourne, Dover, Bromley and Farnborough) and a couple of those would have drawn much better attendances on a Saturday.
Doesn't quite seem very fair on the revenue front.......
The fixture list on the WUFC site has the Weston away match on a Tuesday night (26 Feb), but the list on the Conference site has it on Saturday, 23 Feb. Which is correct?
We got Dartford when by rights Ebbsfleet should have got them. With our good friends from lego park now elsewhere, we probably would have hoped for Dover or Chelmo and got the worst ball out the bag financially. All the more reason to advertise the xmas game all through December in Welling and the local area and in the schools.
Make the best of what you have.

The Conference site shows Farnborough (H) as Tuesday 19th February and Weston (A) on Saturday 23rd February. 23rd February is also shown for Weston v Welling on the WSM site, so both of these appear to be wrongly shown on Welling's official site.
Why haven't we got Bromley at Xmas and New Year? That would have been the most sensible option I would have thought. We have them on a midweek in early December instead!
Looks like they forgot to make us play Basingstoke at home on the final day for a change :) How many people will turn up for the Hornchurch game on New Years Day? 500?
Charlton are away so.... Would be a decent opportunity to flyer the valley leading upto the game offerring cheaper entry for Charlton fans for new years day. We have to try everything we can to get the gate up.
Would be a good day to do the league season ticket offer on that day too.

The Conference fixtures got lots of abuse last year and Dennis Strudwick defended himself in the Non-League paper by claiming he got the long journeys out of the way when the weather was (likely to be) better.
Truro City made their third longest trip, to PVR, on the first weekend in January.
This season...
Take a bow, Dennis, and see if that red nose can touch the toes on the end of those big red shoes.

No Marmite, we are playing Hornchurch mate, not Hayes & Yeading.
Hornchurch is an baron part of the world over in Essex, across the Thames from us, where they love, jellied ells, spray tans & jingle jangly i.d. bracelets. NOW THEN, NOW THEN, YOU WROTE TO ME....as Sir Jimmy once said. Oh & its a real pain to get to by publc transport on a good day let alone Boxing Day.
& as for Bromley they get to play Tonbridge as their local Xmas/New Year games, they did last year & will this year, we have just been drawn (for us) the short (poo) stick.

FC depending on engineering works over the festive season bus(es) to North Greenwich, Jubilee Line to West Ham and District Line to Upminster Bridge. I am assuming that the national rail network will be in its usual state of hibernation on Boxing day.
