A big game at PVR on Saturday where Thurrock will be full of effort and try and staunch our play. The performances of the last two games should see us play with lots of effort and confidence and belief, not underestimating that we need to put in a performance. We saw that Concord were bright and never stopped running and they could have dumped us out in the first game once they equalised despite us being much the best for 75 minutes, we dont want to provide Thurrock with an opportunity to do so.
Should be highlights of Concord replay ,Dorchester and Dover games in the bar on the big screen before the game. Any people wondering whether to swerve the game should get down there and get behind the lads, A win tomorrow and a fair draw in the last qualifying round and win that then its possible we draw a big league team at home and get a live sky game.

How many rounds do we have to go though before we are in the real f.a cup.
We are in the real F.A. Cup however if we win tomorrow we will be in the 4th qualifying round where Conference Premier sides come in. The round after that is the first round which includes teams from League one and two. Whoever is left is whittled down further in the 2nd round, then comes the third round which is when Premiership and Championship clubs come in. After rounds 4 and 5, you get to the quarter final stage and Premiership clubs start playing their first team players. Or something like that!!

exactly , hence reason you won't catch me supporting or watching premier league clubs (and if the non-stop yakking couple of West Ham plums who wouldn't shut up talking about the Hammers during tuesday nights game against Dover, then it sounds like I'm not missing much anyway).
Earlier round 3 is the best as it often sees the "Big" clubs throw out their second teams and come unstuck .. I may add that their second teams are normally full of international players or who play league games during the season anyway and who they paid an entire years worth of non-leagues wages just to buy .. however they like to use it as an excuse hwne getting dumped out or forced to a replay.
Home tie against Sheff Utd or Pompey please (WHEN we get there , WHEN and not IF)
Their goal was a free header from a good cross. all our defenders were standing there looking at each other, waiting for someone else to make the challenge. none of our players were within 5 yards of their score.
I said that but was over ruled by the masses, I made it between Acheampong and Gallagher, the press and media bods came up with Jake between us as website man of the match today but Ant did well and must have been close.
Thurrock had a decent work rate and a young team and a few experienced heads, i didnt like them trying to get Ross and Obo sent off though, handful of players crowding the ref and remonstrating to get a red out, it seems its not only in our league that happens.

They know it was poor but fair play to them, they had arranged a team night out tonight but have postponed it as "it wouldnt feel right going out after that performance".
We get a chance to play our normal game on Tuesday, that will be good enough.
Interviews up later with Jamie Day and Captain Lee Clarke. Highlights will follow ASAP.

After two excellent performances against Dorchester and Dover (for very little reward), so many players were below par today that you really have to question whether they all want a cup run or whether they consider it an unnecessary distraction from the more important business of the league. I'm sure the club's bank manager hopes that's not the case! We may find out on Tuesday.
My MOM today was Obersteller, one of the few who did seem on top form.
Obersteller was my MOTM aswell , as was Theo when he came on and Faz (a given in all games) .. but frankly we were really lucky not to be knocked out. Their number 4 should have been off the pitch , but that is no excuse for today's game , some players with great touches seemed to not even bother tracking back ... I was running late because of a prob with the 96 and missed the Thurrock goal thankfully
Theo is a young lad that certainly has something about him.....I think in 2 years time he will be a real star at this level.....Got into some great positions and another day (Tuesday hopefully) they will fall to him
I guess Rosco came off to prevent another Red as he was on his last chance with the ref I think
Conspiracy theory.......another game off daisys ban on Tuesday - Only Joking!!!
It was a bad day at the office BUT we got away with it and after all we are still in the hat for Mondays draw - we have to make sure we are still there after Tuesday

If we keep him next season then he could be key , willingness was obvious today with Theo .. I am confident tuesday there won't be any upsets
Thought Anthony Acheampong was MOM for us - outstanding yet again. Jack was given a tough test by their right winger who looked a good player and is only 17.
Have never seen Jack O so frustrated and he was lucky not to go after bringing him down after being booked.
Was a poor performance and we need to get it right on Tuesday. Also thought Theo did well when he came on.

As the great Adam Yauch once said "as cool as a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce" .. we'll be ok
Totally agree, most people were we were sitting in the sunshine first half and then standing in the sunshine for the second half were saying how well Anthony played.
He made some top class tackles and tried his best to play out from the back.
In the interviews Jamie was saying he was disappointed with the performance and yes Welling can play well above yesterdays showing.
IMO Welling have become a team to beat in our own league and more so for teams in leagues below. This is a huge compliment to our management and players.
Lee said there was a frank discussion in the changing room after the game and the right things have been talked about.
As a club we are moving forward in the right areas, our presentation has improved.
Now is the time for the players to take us up a notch. Im sure they all train hard and put all they can into game performances.
But I ask, can we raise the level as indivduals, as a team and as a club.
Can all involved see the ambition that is coming together. I think the fact that Jamie has shown comittment by signing a contract is good timing.
As supporters we have our part to play.
Tuesday lets show Thurrock we a class above, and then next Saturday show Bromley what we are all about.
Acheampong and Gallagher vying for man of the match??????
Was I watching the same game?? AA has been out for a few weeks and it showed for me. He has improved a lot over the last twelve months but some of the last ditch clearances he made on Saturday were because he was recovering his own mistakes. Hopefully he will benefit from the ninety minutes and be much tighter in the next game. I was very impressed with Gallagher against Dover when he played deeper and kept it simple. Saturday, particularly in the second half, he was pushed further forward and reverted to headless chicken mode at times. Also tried some ridiculous shots on goal but he wasn't alone in that....
Poor performance all round but I am sure the players and management know that already and will do thier utmost to put it right tomorrow night. However it was a good day (pun intended) in other ways with Jamie, Barry and Dean signing new deals. The improvement under those three has been fantastic and let's hope there is more to come.
