your right Trundle so far this season when watching the boy i have been thinking there has been a lot of moments where we need him surly he must be fit by now?
The ref!!. He booked their guy when he got fouled!!, he gave throw ins the wrong way. Didnt seem to have a clue what he was doing. He talked to about 4 of their players and one of them twice, let a guy who had been booked hoof the ball away. Then he started booking ours like confetti for nothing after he allowed Jenkins to rip into him on the pitch for a couple of minutes at half time instead of telling him to go away!!. He booked Kurtis when he was 50 yards away from the incident and looking the other direction!! Chelmsford manager dont rate him either!! Cray were very average but sometimes you have to win ugly. Man of match looked between Ant and Connor and Connor got it. Kurtis was quiet first half but second half he got into the game and got a few shots off and looked a real handful.
Interviews with Jamie Day and Connor McLaren up in a couple of hours and some highlights up very late tonight. Good result and a clean sheet. Dartford at home in the next round please.

Totally agree. Have to say within the first 15 minutes I turned to my mate and said why get him when we could have signed young Jack Evans who is proven quality at right and left back but have to say Connor proved me wrong. Long solid defensively and looked very promising going forward. Can't wait to see more from him!

Good performance today with a few lads stepping up their game. Have to mention Curtis who I thought was exceptional 2nd half and never stopped running and Daisy who bossed the midfield.
Still not convinced by Theo. Looked out of position on numerous occasions continually made the wrong decision and can't really shot. It's scary really how little we have on the wing. I know people will pipe up and say "oh it's fine now cos we can play Faz on the wing" however he hasn't played there in about a year an a half and if he was that good of a winger we would have found a right back and moved him sooner.
Nevertheless we played well today and deserve to be in the hat. Bring in Maidstone away please

Theo played in Connor for the goal. Another assist, he had one at Maidenhead and he also scored at Bromley. Hes being productive or are people ignoring that?

Knew someone would say that. Hardly a defence splitting through ball now was it? A pass 5ft that Connor did fantastically to smash home from a tricky angle

The young right full back Connor McLaren showed great potential. Willing to get forward and support when the play allowed. I had the pleasure of speaking with his mother and brother, good people of the type we need at Welling.
What a skillfully taken goal, for me, man of the match. Well done Connor.

What was going on in the second half along side the dug outs? Bizarre to say the least. An example of how poor referees can have far reaching consequence. Jamie was booked for desent brought on I think, by
the reffs irrational decisions.
Both Mr Healy senior and myself agreed, the cold got to Mr Adam Crysell's brain. thats assuming he has one.
I personally think we should go and get Glen Johnson and Dimitar Berbatov on loan think we would win the league with those two, im sure the budget will stretch. I must have watched different games last season because Connor looked as good as Jack Evans.
Muzza, you of course are correct, Theo should have flicked it up, bounced it off both ankles, kneed it in the air, chested it , trapped it and then chipped it with his right foot behind his left leg.... putting the ball about a yard in front of Connor so he could half volley it into the corner of the net. Rolling it into his path was pretty poor and easy to do.
Jack Evans is i think contracted to Gillingham, so have no idea how we could have signed him this season.
We have a budget i would imagine of between 3 and 4k, i think our squad if you include the youngsters from Jamie's academy is about 20. What do some people want? to spend the budget on 3 Eastleigh players and play 3 players?
We are up there this season and have a few young players who will improve under Jamie's coaching. Shall we go back to the days of Paul Parker, Neil Smith and Andy Ford signing players that are definitely good enough but dont give a ****?

He could just as easily put Theo or Kiernan up in a 4-3-3 now Kurtis is here or try Mainy with them.
Muzza, Everything is not wonderful, we have been inconsistent as a team all season. Its looking a witch hunt. Yep you are entitled to an opinion even if its not a very good one.

Really? . You cant watch games either then. The kids made two assists and scored recently, i could name a handful of peoples heros who have played iffy lately but people continue to talk about them like they are Jesus, yet a kid (whos done plenty of positive things lately) gets slagged off by someone whos clearly rabid lately and slagging off all and sundry on the forum? .
He talks for more fans? PMFSL, have you actually read his posts lately, from pms and texts ive had i think he talks for far less than you seem to think.
Werent you one of those who used to slate Pires every week? he turned out crap didnt he, i must have been wrong for seeing he was decent and would improve and go on to better things.?

No Glen Johnson for me please - I think we have two better right backs than him in our current squad. Would take Berba though.
However this is supposed to be a forum about opinions - positive or negative. There were a few positives from yesterday (Connor and Kurtis the main two for me plus another clean sheet) However there were some who were given their chance and didn't take it (F-J and Mainy) The former definitely has potential and I am a fan of his but the last few times I have seen him play he has been disppoitning. I was very supportive of Mainy for his attitude and performance at Thamesmead but again, on given a start, didn't do himself justice.
I like to think I give objective opinions about the club, management and playing staff - sometimes good, sometimes not so good. People should be free to come on here and give a negative opinion on here without being chastised for it.
Youve said in one post 4 players arent good enough and named them, youve slagged off the team selection when you havent been there, and had another pop at the keeper when you werent there at that game either.
Strong opinions when you havent even been at games and not helping the younger players confidence. From memory youve slated Main, Mott, Clarkie, Theo and Kiernan more than once and not been at the games!!
Thats not quite jurys out is it? Its hammering players regularly and often not being at the games.
Muzza some of us come home gutted when the boys have not played well, im assuming you are among those even if you havent been at the game, sometimes it just looks like you are slagging the players off day in day out, especially when you wade in to the same players regularly.
The reason we havent got x or y player this season is we cannot afford them or the gaffer didnt want them. Its probably a good thing to get behind them. Id much rather say "He needs to be more consistent but some of his play was good, nice pass for the goal and his work rate was decent" than "Hes not good enough it was a lucky pass or a flukey goal and all he does is give the ball away or shoot like diana ross"

I agree with that Mr Nut....on another note One Joe is below his best at the moment (I am sure it is temporary) BUT it does show up others as he is a real link from back to front (especially with Clarkie not playing)
We need a strong performance next saturday...a game that could set up the season nicely
Nothing wrong with saying someone wasnt very good where due. I question how you can single out Theo as Muzza seems to do, when hes had two assists and scored recently. It does seem a little bit "lets slag a young off a player for the sake of it".
Does the fact he is young and stepping up two league not warrant a bit of patience especially as he is being productive yet sometimes (understandably?) inconsistent, Jamie is getting a reputation for developing players but are some people saying stuff that they need to be the finished article or i am going to rip into them?

Or even reading reports, granted that may be true.
Maybe Muzza is just frustrated, no one is questioning he isnt a full on Welling fan. Maybe he doesnt realise he is being critical regularly of the same players without ever praising them for their good play. So it looks like its just slagging off the same people.
I said with Pires, if you get behind him, give him the proverbial cuddle he will flourish, he did. I would bet that if people got behind Theo and KHM they will bust their guts even more and have the confidence to express themselves without fear of the boo boys or losing the ball.

If you dont rate him i question your ability to a rate players and b comment that everyone agrees with you and muzza rather than my analysis of players performance and pluses and minuses. First season Pires was inconsistent, second season he was a beast and his consistency, work rate and productivity was excellent and we miss him dearly. IMHO. I thought i was mental for thinking he was excellent when the boo boys where ripping him every game. Think ive been proved right, Like to think i will be right with Theo but think he will really hit the ground in about a year or two when he develops ... just like Pires did. In the mean time he still has the weapons to be an asset as his assists at Maidenhead, Cray and the goal at Bromley prove and he wil only improve with coaching and a little ecnouragement.

I think you'll find I praised Connor in above posts. He played really well and made me look like a fool for doubting him. In regard to Jack Evans I believe last I heard he was on loan a Corby Town?!?
I'm sorry for being truthful and not continually stating how wonderful everyone is and what a great job everyone is doing.
I think Joe Healy is at his best when is in the middle dictating play as he was earlier in the season when we were playing a 4-3-3/ 4-5-1. When playing 4-4-2 as yesterday and he's stuck on the wing he will be less effective, he doesn't have the pace to beat a man let's face it! Put him in the middle and he is far and away our best player! I do worry if we start playing 4-4-2 more regularly he will be stuck out wide.

I think One Joe has the ability to play anywhere across the midfield. I agree that he has had some good games centrally but when he first returned as a midfielder he also had some good games wide left. He might not have pace but he can pick a pass and links up very well with Stella when they play down the left side.
If Daisy goes with Ross and Kurtis up top together (which he might) then it will be 4-4-2 or a diamond in midfield with Joe at the top of the diamond for me in that formation.
And your opinion is better than Muzza? I think you will find that Muzza talks for more fans
