Salisbury going very well and top of the league. Big chance for us to get closer to them and stil have a couple of games in hand. We have a decent recent record against them, but we did have one against Stortford and that went west...

I fancy our forwards to have a good day, They look like they are about to explode into life to me. Ross has had a breather, Kurtis has had some minutes and Mainy and Kiernan looked sharp in the week.

If its as good as last seasons corresponding game (see video)  the fans are in for a treat.

It might just be another absolute cracker!! and might have the goal of the season in it like last seasons winning goal between the two sides at PVR.

Their forums a bit funny tonight, they seem to think they were the better team, I think we could concede they were on top first 20 and had chances but after that they were never better than us and we created plenty of chances and over ran them for large periods, at times we played them off the park in 2nd half.

Think we deserved the win, they looked a bit lightweight once we got going and we looked fitter than them second half, we just kept streaming forward. Yes they could have been one or two up early but they havent tested Motty much at all. Pretty football for 20 minutes and no goals doesnt equate to the better team imo.

The referee lives in Sunderland!!

I have predicted Welling to loose, I was havin a bit of a brain befor heart moment.

But I agree with Tom, on our day we are as good as any in the league. Sensible thinking goes out the window at kick off time.

The ref looks about 12, hope he's strong enough for this game.

Anthony A has made a couple of great tackles. Salisbury then have a shot from outside the box which hits the post. We've yet to have an attempt on goal.

Wing's growing into the game. Salisbury giving away plenty of free kicks which we must take advantage of.

The match is really open now. The score could be pretty much anything. Just don't know which way this will go.

Lovely strike by Hughes-Mason just inches wide. Welling picking up more of the second balls.

several players could lay claim to man of the match today but for me the best of the bunch was Acheampong. Immense.

An excellent test for us today, Salisbury played well but did not take their chances. We defended well, desperately at times, but never stopped battling. For me, both sets of centre half's played well and like Moo says, Acheampong was immense.

At times we couldn't get hold of the ball but got stronger as each half progressed. Thought we defended well and a great goal. Considering they are full time I thought we looked the better team in the last 20 mins.

Salisbury looked a bit special first 20 mins but our effort and work rate was excellent we got in the game and put them under sustained pressure second half and were the better team, Excellent goal to win it. Acheampong was given man of match. We looked very good second half and Ross and Kurtis started looking like they were on the same wavelength which is excellent as this is their first game together.

That was a top win and 3rd clean sheet on bounce.

Interviews with Jamie Day and Anthony Acheampong up later and highlights probably tomorrow.

Excellent win and performance today very impressed with everyone. KHM set up the goal and ran his socks off when he came on. Certainly his best game in a welling shirt.

The biggest positive for us today was formation and team selection. Great to see. 4-4-2 and everyone seemed to know exactly what they were meant to be doing! That the team I would have picked today and just hope that continues.

Was between the two i think but Acheampong got most votes from the site, press and media collective.

I have to say I enjoyed that.....there was never going to be many goals and our defence was immense....we saw today how valuable that Conor will be....switched to L Back and frankly didnt notice too much difference

I agree, they looked ok first 15 mins. After that they didn't offer much at all (like us really). One goal separated an average match. I think our goal was the only shot on target? Can't see Salisbury top for long after today's performance. Great from Franks for the 90, and Achempong and Mason Hughes for the second half. Quite like him midfield rather up front. Louis was better right back as well. Well done the lads and we still haven't hit out potential.

If we're honest Salisbury were the better team at times and will feel hard done by to lose. They looked pretty fit and pressed us hard 1st half and had a couple of good opportunities. They lacked penetration overall though thanks to our immense centre halves. Acheampong shaded MoM for me was a beast today. We did do better in the last half hour and our winner was sublime. Didn't think the ref was too bad for once! Their bench whinged a lot.
