Saturday at 3pm. They should bring a couple of hundred at least as they have fans in the south?

Good chance for us to go for it, nothing to lose against the team top in the league above.

Cant see them playing their reserves unlike Luton. Wouldnt be too worried about a replay as good experience for the players and Yate beat them.

Hopefully we can keep another clean sheet, if we do that we must have a good chance in the tie. Will be good to see our side play with no pressure on and have a real go at them.

Agree with all that apart from the replay bit - no, no and no again! If it is level with fifteen to go then go for it and take the risk of losing - I doubt they would want a replay either.

Yes agreed......it would be nice BUT it is all about the league for me!!!....the win against Salisbury means nothing if we lose the next two!!!We can win this league I am certain of it

That would mean a day and a half off work, expensive train fares as the cheap advance tickets would have gone, and a hotel for the night.

Could all the players get the time off work? Most have jobs with flexible hours, but not all.

I cannot see that anyone at the club would want a replay.

Should be very hard game welling come off the bounce beating top of the league and newport being the leauge leaders. Newport should bring a few last time i saw them play i played football in the guy with some of the fans. cant see them playing the reserves as to us them it is a big game.

If its close and could go to a replay, Given Newport are the highest ranked team in the trophy and Yate have beaten them in the cup. It would be fine to see the game out and have another crack, we get a share of the gate for replay aswell. Would be silly to go all out and get done on the break late in the game imo.

Disagree win or lose first time, odds very much against us in Wales, crowd for a midweek Trophy replay won't be great.

I wonder how they are travelling down here, can't see them coming Saturday morning and a reliable source (my mum) says there are no trains past Bristol and the roads are not in much better shape. Could be a very long journey for them, hopefully we make the most of it.

Cracking performance today. Back 4 had another great game, but we were good all over the pitch. According to Dave the physio concerns that Fraser Franks may have punctured a lung.

Club said as soon as they know anything about Fraser they will put out a message and that they do not know what the injury is, apparantly he was talking so hopefully thats a good sign.

Thought we played well and we could have scored any number of goals their keeper kept it respectable.

Interviews up late with Jamie Day and Ben Martin Highlights tomorrow. Connor McLaren narrowly got the man of the match from the media collective, with other votes for Ant, Gallagher, Faz, Daisy and Joe Healy. It was an excellent TEAM PERFORMANCE and we thoroughly deserved the win.

Justin Edinburgh said after at the press conference that they got what they deserved and he had hoped they would be contenders to win the Trophy after being beaten finalists last season.

If anyone from iRadio has a copy of the commentary if you recorded it on your laptop, if they post a link to a recording i will put it over the highlights with a credit.

Welling United V Newport County live commentary.

by UPTHEPORT on November 24th, 2012, 1:06 pm

Afternoon all

Listening details as follows:

http://www.newportcityradio.org should take you straight to the homepage, and the player will start automatically.

If that doesnt work, try this link which will open up in your media player:
http://159.253.143.4:8208/stream.m3u

Smartphone/tablet users can download the "Tune In Radio" app and search and store Newport City Radio within the app.

If you do get any problems with sound drops, just refresh your browsers, or click on the links again. We do require decent signal strength to provide the service, and as it is wireless we know we can have the odd problem.

For anyone else that wants to follow the game, can I suggest the Twitter feeds of @NewportCounty and @ArgusonCounty for regular updates!

They can be found here:
http://www.twitter.com/newportcounty
http://www.twitter.com/argusoncounty

Enjoy the game
Steve and Tim!

Wings have started brightly, playing some good football. Both keepers have been called into action. Looking good

Welling starting off well, bossing the possession but out of the blue County should have scored.

Sorry for the delay, have just got home.

Full time 2 0.
Played some great football today, totally bossed the possession. Hopefully Fraser is not too badly injured. Our passing and movement at times was fantastic, County could not touch us at times. Wings were the deserved winners and man of the match will not be dominated by one player. For me, Joe Healy gets it, his effort, passing, vision and goal were just great. But there will be good shouts for many others.

That wasn't Luton - Newport put out a strong team, looks like 8 of the starters played in their last Conference match.  Thought we were superb today and could easily have won by more.

Point taken - 'The dierctor Of Football' was sitting in front of Sladie & myself in the 2nd half when I asked him if this was a half reserve/full time team they had out he replied ''NO, it was a 'best they had sqauad/team there was'' (but very lacking in confidence)...........

I thought todays team (ours) was superb & every  player deserves full praise!

COYW!

Excellent summing up Trig, for me today set a mark for how good Wings can be.

We played well against a team a league in front. We matched them in all departments.

Once again imo Jamie gets credit for his overall play, Joe is quality and is consistent,Fraser is classy

Lets not over look Motty. He puts the ball into play so well, and bosses the box.

Our defense players are growing in confidence,is this because of Motty?I think so.

Hard to pick a motm. Joe gets my vote.

Great team performance, great game to watch.

Respect to the Newport supporters, all that way to stand in the rain.

 Hope Fraser is ok.

From the Newport forum:

"Julian, minshull ,smith were abysmal against a very poor team who thoroughly deserved the victory and it should have been a bigger margin"

A very poor team? I only saw one very poor team out there and it wasn't Welling.

Julian seemed like a good bloke as well - makes a welcome change from confrontational keepers.

Absolutely cracking game today. Everyone of the players deserves full credit on an excellent performance.  Hard to call MOM , but Connor edges it for me.
