I don't understand why people were surprised that Maidenhead played some good football. They came into this game on good form and I expected it to be difficult.
It's only having seen the replay that I can really appreciate just how good the defensive work of Kiernan Hughes-Mason was after the excellent save from Sam Mott. That was superb work by an attack minded player and the work rate of a winner.

I wasn't surprised either.
However, having got their goal just before half time, they reverted to Hyppolite teams of the past and tried every trick in the book - time wasting (at their own corners and all restarts) feigning head injury and I thought their number 10 had a piece of elastic tying him to the referee for ninety minutes?! How ironic that a goal in added time (caused solely by their antics) won us the game!
Had they carried on playing like they did in the first half it might have been a different story...
I'm not KHM's biggest fan but that was a fantastic effort by him when he came on.
Curtis Guthrie also played well I thought. I believe we've won every league game in which he's started. Something like 10 in a row? As soon as he gets a goal under his belt and starts to relax I can see him banging in shedloads for us.
