Afternoon chaps (and chappesses). If you haven't made it to the sunny Sussex coast, we have full online commentary and I will try to give you a fair shout.
Go to www.bbc.co.uk/sussex and hit the Listen Live button. Coverage starts just before kick-off.
Good wishes to you all and well done on a great season (so far!)
The reason we are doing so well is we play a 4-4-2 play all long ball and use gamesmanship apparently, should play with grace, timewasted, They did say we were well organised. Kiernan was apparently offside haha when he was clearly onside and i think in his own half when the ball was played.
Ross was down for 10 seconds and they said another 30 seconds gone if you get my drift. No mention when we got hacked down 3 or 4 times. Ross got badly tackled in their box, their 8 should have gone for an early tackle that was xrated, yet it was us rolling around?
Poor teams try and kick us off the pitch, when that doesnt work or we dont roll over for them then we go on and win.. they cite our tactics, Some very silly people about who watch us once maybe twice and think theyve watched us all season.
They ignore any bad points of their own game, Eastbourne were shocking around the goal When they did get the ball and had the wind behind them and pretty dirty side imho.
It was almost a constant belittling of us as a team and seemed very bitter and biased from BBC Sussex.
Strangely he said Welling would be deserved champions at the end after having digs at us all game.
Was it incredibly biased or anti-Welling ?? I'm getting a lot of "they aren't anything special" and "they didn't look like champions" or similar in the quotes, match reports and comments of opposing managers, players and supporters recently ... normally after we have turned them over I might add.
"welling should win the league with grace" and "Another 30secs for welling to take a throw in"...which from being at the game see no reason for that to be said...The fact is it happens to every team who are top..we cant just be better than everyone else, apparently we are bullies and roll around on the floor a lot!! Absolute joke comments.
Does seem incredibly unfair, its not just Eastbourne saying things like that recently. Unjustly so as well.
We've played good football under Jamie for three years now. However, we used to get bullied at times and in the physical games or when the crap pitches at some grounds kicked in, we got a little found out. Now we can match people football wise, and in a battle when needed. That doesn't make us a bad side, or bullies, that's what you need to do to be successful. And we have been. Long may it continue. Pretty football will only get you so far, look at Arsenal.
Fans can say what they want on their forums, nobody likes losing and its only after we've tonked them 3/4-0. Its when its on commentary it does my head in..but to be fair just makes the guy look clueless.
Ref wasn't the best either. I heard that everytime his hands went in the air its a free kick because of his height! You can't penalise the player because he is taller than the opposition!?!
Didn't say he wasnt a decent bloke, just said he was time wasting from the 5th minute, when he told the ball boy not to bring the ball back so quick ....
Well I guess when you are at that end of the table (and God we have been there many times before) then he can use any trick in the book......I dont blame him for that at all...It is up to the ref to sort it
