Today is potentially a great day in the history of this club and I am certain that we will all be 'playing the game' and 'kicking every ball' even more than usual from the stands and the terraces, just imagine if at half time we are still 0-0 and then we hear that Salisbury are losing...? Although I do not post as frequently as I could, and maybe, should on the forum,I have been at home games regularly and one thing I have found frustrating at times this season has been the negativity of some supporters when things aren't going our way....sometimes within the first quarter of a game! Our opponents today are one of the form teams at this time and sometimes have a reputation for not being the most entertaining of sides but they are currently doing the business and all I ask is that we all try and stay positive in our support for the players today as we will all have to be patient and the players will all be doing their best...as usual!! I could ramble on for a lot longer but I think anybody reading this will know the point I'm trying to make so i will just say that I for one can't wait till 3pm and hopefully come 5pm we will have every reason to be celebrating together! COYW!
To a degree its inevitable when someone makes a sloppy pass that there is a groan from the crowd, out of disappointment if nothing else, but I completely agree. Bite your tongues, vocal support of a positive nature only ... and why only today ?? that should be the way every game.
The groans and grumbles at a bad pass or silly mistake I can accept, that is part of the game but there are some people who just seem to want to rant in a negative way at their own team just because we aren't ahead within 5 minutes. Maybe I'm making too much of it but I can't understand the over reaction sometimes. I suppose it's all a part of the Jamie Day revolution,we are all used to winning more these days and are more expectant in terms of results and performances.
We need a team on and off the pitch. The supporters can play a big part by being positive throughout. Welling United have the best home record, a league record for consecutive wins, and best goalscoring record in the league so there is nothing to fear against any team, regardless of their current form.
