As someone who has been a distant fan for several reasons over the past 3-4 years with officiating/playing/coaching I just wanted to say a massive congratulations and well done to everyone involved in the football club. On a personal note it brought back a lot of memories for me, I remember being away at Halesowen when I got my nickname of "mini mullen" all the way to Newport County and Weston Super Mare midweek away games, going to school the next day and of course some fantastic away days with the supporters team matches as well.
For those who use to look after me when I was only 14/15 travelling to country I want to say thank you, you know who you are. This league championship is for the people that go week in, week out, not just for this season, but for the past seasons, when, frankly being a supporter has been tough but there's something special about this football club that always holds a place in our hearts.
Also think it would be fitting to hear a chorus of one Graham Hobbins next week, I'd like to think he'd been looking down proud of this Welling side and indeed the whole club the way they have conducted themselves this season.
For now, forget about next season, forget about transfer targets, forget about budgets, forget about new contacts...It's not often you win a league title, enjoy the moment.
