I dont know, I just dont think that woking was the rong club and maybe he should of never left also at the start of next season we are going to be low on striker's and when he was at the club he was a good player I liked him so i would have him back.

I always liked Loick when he played for us,one of those players who could turn it on at a moments notice and could win a match with sublime skill and I certainly wouldn't complain if he did find his way back here. For me though,I've always thought of Kurtis as the new and improved version of Loick.....only potentially better. Whereas Loick would often float in and out of a game, and sometimes not turn up at all,I can't recall ever seeing Kurtis not run himself silly for the whole game. For me there is a big difference between the two in attitude at times. I would see it as a risk to take Loick back at National level if his time at Woking hasn't worked out well for him, plus I always feel it wouldn't work out as well 2nd time around. It sounds like I'm anti Loick I know,I'm really not,I just personally feel it may be a slight backwards step at this time.
He hasn't made it at National level and couldn't get a full game at Boreham Wood so why would we want him? Flashes of brilliance but for long periods of games he went missing. Not for me.
Doesn't really have much say on wages if he has been released. Will be lucky to get a club to pay top wages to him. Either way, not good enough for us next season.

Can't look a gift horse in the mouth! Loick was brilliant for us last year (playoff final excluding) and anyone that says otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about! Saying he didn't do it last year so we don't want/need him is also nonsense! Jamie Day has a nack of getting the best out of players- Reid for example labelled as Telfords worst ever player and he has don't too bad! I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat. He is awkward and has class and he never stopped running when he played. Also he'd love to come back and wages shouldn't be a problem!

Did well for us - a powerful shot and a nightmare for most defences. I'd take him back in an instant if we can afford him, but it is Jamie's shout and he has not let us down. I think loick would work well with Kurtis.
It's a hard one. He has the ability, is a very decent person, has the year in the cold dented his belief. It would be a gamble unless it fitted in with Jamies valuation of him wages wise. Kurtis has done well in that position, If he stays can we afford two similar players?
I REALLY rate Loick but would feel its unfair on Kurtis if we bombed him out for Loick who did after all choose Woking. IF Kurtis decided to go elsewhere then I think if Loick was wanted by Jamie he would be a superb signing and our coaches could get him going again if he showed he was committed.
He's young and was developing into a beast second season and consistency improved hugely. Just needs lots of encouraging and a bit of freedom but we play very disciplined position wise with the wideys having other duties, he would need to do the boring stuff as well.

Good post, Tom - I like Loick but I hope Kurtis stays, perhaps the travelling won't be so bad for him as many of our opponents will be based in the north.

Totally agree Tom. Kurtis still has a lot to learn, but under the guidance of Jamie and co, I think that he could become a good asset for us. Loick is good on his day, but we have three good strikers? ( is Jake staying ? ) The oppo next season will be stronger / better than we have faced thus far, so we need to strengthen the squad. Therefore for me, no thanks. I must admit though, if Mr Pugh were available, no blinking of the eyelids - proven quality. Having said that, could we afford him and others of his ilk?
Having watched the likes of robbins, pugh, abbott, morah over the last 25 years i am more than qualified to comment on pires...if oeople are happy with a player that 8 games out of ten is poor, than so he it,but i for one and know many by LISTENING to terrafe comments would not he happy...if jamie thinks hes good enough then so he it,but he hardly set boring wood play off hopes altigh
I can't think of any other Wings player, past or present, who has divided opinions as much as Loick. My guess is that if a poll was put on this forum asking the question "Would you like to see Loick Pires playing for the Wings next season?" the voting would be extremely close. The interesting thing is that everyone on both sides of the debate is convinced they're right. That's football I suppose.
If Jamie Day wants him back, and Loick wants to come back, then I would welcome him back. The Gaffer is pretty shrewd and doesn't make many mistakes with his signings.
Most instructive to me was the play off final. Both Dartford centre backs lumped him early and he disappeared (not alone in that on the day admittedly). Logically the defenders one league up should be technically better but if they know thst if they whack you you disappear thst is going to get around.
If you are being hard you could say we were spared finding out how he, Parkinson and Pugh would go in the Conference without us having the risk. On balance there is probably a reason why he has been at Boreham Wood rather than Woking and at this point I vwould gladly thank him for what he did but look elsewhere in the future.
I'm undecided myself. I won't lose any sleep if we don't sign him, but wouldn't be opposed to him coming back either. What I would like to see next season is a proper left winger to enable Mr Healy to move inside and cause more havoc in the centre of the pitch.

Really? He made the best two defensive headers of the whole match? Wide players and strikers could appear to 'go missing' if they don't get the service.
Loick is typical of most players. You pay me then you can play me. Very few have loyalty to exceed what they have in their wallets. Done deal. The most loyal to any club is standing on the cold/wet terraces every Sat and some Tues. My hat of to em.

A little harsh in my opinion!!
I am edging towards the Stafford camp here. Loick is undoubtedly talented but goes missing too often for my liking. He has been tried at BSP level and found wanting - it is not just about talent but attitude and desire as well. Loick probably has more talent than Ross for example but I know who I would rather have in my team...
If Daisy decides he would like him back (and we could afford it) then that is fair enough but I won't be too upset if he doesn't come back to PVR.
Poor old Loick let's hope some of our current players are not found wanting at the next level. I think we're forgetting what Jamie can do with players he thinks are worth working with. Must have done something write to have been a pro at Orient and to have got the move to Woking in the first place. Easily as good as any of our current forwards and that includes the blue eyed boy.
Well loick has been found wanting at BSP and BSS level this season so.......he is certainly NOT as good as the forwards we have....he would never score the number of goals Roscoe got......we can and will do better
Roscoe has every bit as much as Loick in terms of skill, strength and speed, and is twice the player in terms of work rate, first touch and decision making. It's not necessarily an either/or scenario - we managed to play two big men in Roscoe and Reid after all, but if it were then i'd take Ross all day long.

So are we suggesting we bring him back at centre half...
I must confess they don't immediately spring to mind but I'll take your word for it. It is not as if his game the rest of last season relied on service like say Gary Abbott would have. I can think of several games where he made chances for himself from not far inside the opponents half. I am not expecting Barnes at the Maracana in the play off final but after the first five minutes, the perceived demeanour was not of someone who was going to grab the game by the scruff of the neck even if it meant getting a good going over. You may have seen it differently.
Presuming we go for Cumbers, Guthrie and Lafayette retained there are not a huge number of spaces up the front to be filled anyway.
Jamie would get a lot more out of Loick than Boreham Wood and that's proven. I know it's forbidden to say a word aginst this year's wonderful squad but he's better than Kiernan and Kurtis (though Kiernan has contributed and Kurtis is promising). How soon we forget. A number of our players if retained will really need to step up to the plate next season which will be a different ball game.

Not at all, as long as it's not a word against Ross Lafayette
I think Kurtis can become one hell of a player, KHM has shown flashes of ability but the goals usually only flow when the game is already out of sight. I actually thought he had an excellent game against Eastleigh, probably because the pressure was off and he could just do his thing. Contrast that to when we played his old club Grimsby for example, and he hid away in his shell despite the fact he'd been in good form prior to that.
I'm not going to say too much on Theo - just that in my opinion, he isn't good enough. No complaints about his effort level, but I don't think he has the quality required.
Will be very interesting to see what kind of formation we adopt next season. I feel we lack width in attacking areas. I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to signing Loick, but would prefer to see at least one natural winger come in.
I havent forgotten......I dint rate him last year!!
I think we need another Reid (type) player to help bully the opposition and not fall over when the going gets tough
BUT Hey it is all about opinions thats why it is such fun......I love these next few weeks as signings happen,,,,,Daisy will be quick on some I am sure
It is all about opinions my friend and that's the beauty of it all! Personally I haven't been overstruck on Reid though am grateful for his contribution. Too similar to Ross perhaps just not as good. To be fair has only been at the Club five minutes but if he's to be retained will have to produce an awful lot more.
I actually think people can say what they like within reason out of season, its not affecting the players minds for the next game, If the players stay the next season then they start with a clean slate and can let their performances do the talking.
For me we have a few players who need to stay. Faz, Acheampong, Gallagher, Healy, Lafayette and Guthrie I would like to keep most of the rest that remain like Fraser and Obo for example. A few of them still need to improve and kick on, but Pires did 2nd season so you can it expect it to happen with those that have quality but lack a bit of consistency.
If Kiernan stayed i would expect him to be more consistent and come on a bomb 2nd season, hes got the goods just needs to play with a swagger and not give a toss about people moaning if he lost the ball. His work rate is excellent and his pace and team work was good. Am looking for him to destroy teams next season.
I guess we will have agents advising players though, when in all seriousness they should just sign ASAP as Day is a genius and they have all ...and will all continue to improve.
Plus we have FIFA14 (you are all going to get rinsed), Live TV games, Names on shirts, more live scores etc on Sky, Live radio, More publicity, more scouts. The shop window now got bigger if they have the goods to display.
