Just a "random" thought reinforced by the fact that a few other clubs, such as Cambridge United, I think, do this - and they must have their reasons. I just thought it could be a double safeguard for some people. I am not bothered about it - just a suggestion for debate.
Unless you have particular reasons or proof of some kind of misuse on the forum,I can't see any point in doing this. It would only put off people from reading it and why do that when it is a form of free advertising and may attract people to come and watch us. When I was getting interested in starting to come and watch Welling I used to take a look at the forum and it gave me a positive impression of the club and encouraged me even more. If I had had to register I don't think I would have bothered. I always think when you compare our forum to a lot of other clubs ours is a very lively and vibrant site and should be thought of as a way to advertise our club to potential visitors. Making it a register to view would not stop the occasional Acworths of this world.
Fair enough, and you are right. However, in your first foray on this site you may have been put off by a particular tedious thread, this one notwithstanding!
That is not a legitimate comment because it has not been placed within the appropriate thread, though as the thread has not been started yet, your comment does not technically exist which means that I have not been able to read it and therefore that means that the last half an hour has never happened. Now please tell me who on earth could possibly find this forum boring?
