Fair enough for increased travel costs and ground improvements but this is for 'raising valuable funds', 'help secure its future', 'certain liabilities'.
Bolt out the blue. Alarm bells ringing in the GaryH camp. Or is it just the cost of going up?
Dont be silly the best way of raising funds is getting games with Premier League X1s and always will be. Premier League teams are sending teams to teams in our league for friendlies Villa ,Arsenal, Sunderland, Chelsea, Wigan, Everton, QPR (Chelsea are even sending an x1 to sutton.)
As we saw with the Arsenal game when they sent their kids we still nearly got 2,000 people in the ground. If you can get a few names sent by the premier league team you are looking at 3000.
To put this into to context we could bring in 35k in sponsorship... An X1 vs a premier league side could bring that in. Given the fact they are happy to send teams to sides at our level and below we are missing a massive trick, especially when we seem keen to raise funds again.
The Bar whilst would make more money if turned long ways and more staff serving... It would still close at 630pm for functions, not have sky and not be open in the week or sundays, The cost to do the refurbs and the above, wouldnt see huge profits.
A big friendly would...
Maybe its just me but a decent X1 from the premier league, flyer 10,000 closest homes to Welling with details of the match and an online payment facility for tickets, details of our season tickets and fixtures when theyve come out. Then you are making money and not just advertising a friendly that will pull in new fans, you are advetrising the club and the league in the community. I really dont see the point ion flyering 4 streets with home produced flyers, when you can flyer the whole area with double sided colour A5 and make a statement.
We dont help ourselves sometimes when we hint we need to raise funds.

I did sit in the last board meeting to discuss this and we decided to issue shares again as they were not fully taken up last time. The club is sitting in a higher league thanks to the great work on the pitch. Because of this there will of course be extra investment needed to sustain conference national football. This includes investing in playing budget, improvements in ground and so on. It is your chance to buy shares in your football club.

I wouldn't read too much into this. The taxassist email address I believe is Dan Chapman's who helped the club a few years ago with the winding up order etc. As far as i'm aware, the full quota of shares that were made available last time were not taken up and this is an oppurtunity to raise some cash by selling the final few shares. We all know that ground improvements need to be carried out so this is a viable way of raising funds for this.

Going way back to the original share offer which had a very limited sign up period, I recall it being said that if not all were taken up there would be further opportunities in the future.

I believe the taxassist email is that for Mr Littlefield the Club's accountant. Dan Chapman's email would I believe be leathesprior.

Nothing to worry about, whatsoever!!
That is certainly my recollection too Mark.

Thanks Matt. Glad it is not a panic response to somethign that may have happened and was in fact planned. That helps.
The fact that shares are again on offer is because the full 30% weren't taken up in the initial share issue and it was said that the shortfall would be offered in a second share issue. That fact does not of itself mean that there are no current pressing financial issues which require funding but merely that there are still shares available.
