Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter has hit out at the six players who have left the club in the past week, saying they are "chasing the money".
Ben May, Dean Rance, Billy Bricknell, Ian Simpemba, Daryl McMahon and Danny Webb all waved goodbye to Crabble this week. McMahon and May left for Ebbsfleet United, with the new cash-rich side handing Dover a cheque for £13,000 to sign McMahon.
Parmenter said he expects Rance to join the duo at Stonebridge Road and as he is under 24, Dover should expect somecompensation.
Simpemba moved closer to home at Eastbourne Borough, Bricknell has not yet revealed where he will play next season but has an agreement with another club and Webb has joined Chelmsford City.
And the chairman told the Dover Express that those six leavers wouldnt have been offered new contracts anyway.
Parmenter said: The players who have left are high earners. We have got a very healthy budget for next season but the players who have left wouldnt have been offered new deals anyway.
We got a fee for McMahon and if Ebbsfleet want to pay that then thats their choice. They have come into this money and its up to them how they want to spend it. How long it will last though, well have to wait and see. Any money generated from player sales gets invested back into the football club, it doesnt go anywhere else.
I expect Dean Rance to join Ebbsfleet and I also expect us to receive some compensation for him as well he is under 24 years old. He hasnt said where he is going to play next season but it is likely he will end up there.
These players are chasing the money. If they dont want to play for Dover then I dont want them here. Myself, Chris [Kinnear] and Jake [Leberl] only want players that want to be part of Dover Athletic Football Club and get us promoted next season.
It was very difficult for Chris and Jake when they came in. That crop of players had lost nine games in 21 before Chris and Jake came in and only lost two after that, one of them being the play-off final, so they did a remarkable job and got them playing well. If those players dont buy into that philosophy, then good luck to them.
My message to the fans is not to panic. Chris knows non-league football like the back of his hand and I fully support him in respect of who he wants to bring in to this football club.
but the players who have left wouldnt have been offered new deals anyway. Surely they have/would have been offered terms to rance at least as good as last seasonif they want compensation and they must have got 13k for McMahon as he had a deal for next season and was on contract?
These players are chasing the money. If they dont want to play for Dover then I dont want them here Chasing the pound?? How many players in the last 10 years have chased the pound at Dover?
We have got a very healthy budget "Healthy" budget, Dover going for it again then....
We got a fee for McMahon and if Ebbsfleet want to pay that then thats their choice. Sorry didnt Dover pay 15k for him?
Cant beat a good seethe but Dover have flashed the cash and gone all out for promotion, probably keeping face after saying they would be in the conference prem in 5 years (and football league after that) when they were in Ryman South all those years ago.

And how do you suppose Dover attracted some of these players in the first place.....because Parmesan got his cheque book out and waved it under their noses. Mcmahon didn't leave £astleigh and join Dover because he suddenly decided he liked the sea air....

Exactly. He even says they were big earners. 'We like to outbid rivals as long as they don't outbid us.'
It seems like Dover have been out-Dovered. Dover. Eastleigh, Gravesend and Sutton all seem to be chucking money at going up. Someone will have spent plenty for nothing.
So they weren't going to offer some of their best players new contracts, that's obviously a load of b*******! I had them down to do quite well, and probably get promoted next season, but I doubt that now.
